The correct answer is porterhouse.

Strip on one side, tenderloin on the other.

Strip, followed by a ribeye, then a filet. Sirloin a close 4th.

Anyone who says otherwise is a damned moron who has never eaten or cooked a good steak.

Yoyo, you should be ashamed of your answer.

At the end of it all, taco meat.

porterhouse, tenderloin, or a good ribeye. sinful to choose a t-bone over a porterhouse.

isn't a strip steak just the "loin" portion of a porterhouse or t-bone -- either with the bone or without, but sans the tenderloin portion.

Filet for me.

I don't think I've ever craved a steak before 9am until today.

for those of you wondering (of which i'm sure there are none), i went with the specialty of the house which was a "cote de boeuf" bone-in ribeye. it was amazing. the fat had rendered into an almost bacon-like quality around the edges, and the inside was cooked to the rare-side of medium perfection. delicious.

the wife got the filet mignon, and she almost didn't need a knife to cut it. also very good.

You are correct Inigo. And a porterhouse is the same thing as a t-bone just cut up higher with a larger portion of the tenderloin.

The strip steak is just the tender part of the bottom of a t-bone or porterhouse.
