Ok...so we've beaten up on some creampuffs and we had a scare with a decent Army team. Not denying that...however..

After Army our pass defense was ranked in the top 10 and everyone said, "let's see how you do against La. Tech first, they can actually pass the ball!" We settled that on the field and again everyone said, "Well they obviously stink so let's see how you do against Tech, you still haven't played a REAL team!"

So let's say we beat Tceh this weekend giving them a 2-2 record. I can already predict what people are going to say..."Well Tech obviously isn't a good team, they have 2 losses, so let's wait until you play a REAL team!"

At what point does our defense earn respect?

Do we have to win a MNC to earn it?

Just wondering what you all think about that.

If we beat Tech, we'll have to prove something by getting out of October with no losses and performing well (1-2 or better and keeping any losses close) in November.

If you beat Tech, which I think you will, I'll have a lot of respect for your defense if you hold them to 30 points or so. The TCU game was an anamoly. Either TCU is very good, or Tech was malfunctioning a lot which can happen with that offense, or likely some of both.

While I disagree with the premise of your argument, this point did have merit.

Don't expect our defense to hold down their passing game. The stats might be a little inflated against our D. If we give up 350 yards passing and hold them to 20 points or so then I would say or defense did a pretty good job.
