Why would we be crying? I lvoed him while he was here, but I think we are better now than we were when he was here.

I think most Mav fans are happy for him. He led the Mavs as far as he could when he was here and has exceled in their offense. He also has athletic guys who can run with him where Dallas had spot shooters whose percentage wasn't as high. Good try though.

I would love to see Dirk get it, but it's hard to argue against Nash. That team was nothing before he got there and now with Amare out he has still kept them in the hunt. The only problem with that team is that they play 0 defense, so they aren't going anywhere ever unless that changes.

By the way, for the record, I like the Mavs and root for them unless they're playing the Spurs.

As far as their fans (i.e. the Mav-Necks)go...not so much.

Steve Nash is a great player, but clearly Dirk deserved the MVP this season. After all, he has kept the Mavs up as a high-caliber team even after LOSING Nash and Finley over the last few years.

i think nash deserves it more simply because dirk had a better supporting cast. if you take dirk away from the mavs, they still have howard and jason terry. but nash has basically repeated the suns feats of last year without arguably the second best center in the nba(no not dampier) and without 2 of the other key players from last year in joe johnson and quentin richardson. the way he runs that team is incredible and i think he deserves it more than anybody.

although i think lebron or billups takes it this year.

No moral victory needed. The defending champs are up 2-0.

Nothing wrong with Nash being MVP, they won without Stoudamire, that's impressive and proves that Nash is the most valuable to the Suns much like Dirk is to the Mavs. I love Steve Nash as a player and think he's a very upstanding guy, I hope he gets it. Better than giving it to Kobe or LeBron, both better players than Nash or Dirk but not more valuable to their respective teams.

Apparently it wasn't so clear to the voters.

You can make a strong case for Dirk (or for about four other guys). But there is no way it was clear that he should have won.

i used to be the same way. for instance, i hated the kings, but not the kings' fans. i hated the spurs' fans, but not the spurs. i hated both the jazz and their fans.
