Without Radio im thinking no bowl game. Their offense is so dependent on him. Who will back him up? Colt McCoy? Matt Nordgren? Both IMO are not even 4th stringers at A&M.

If the sips lose Young they are in serious trouble. Of course if we lose Reggie we are equally screwed.

They'll go to a bowl game because there are way too many of them not to go to one.

Um, not really on Reggie. I remember Ty played well when he came in against OU and McGee is the real deal. I think all 3 of our QB's can come in and have a great year.

And the sips don't have anyone behind Young?

lets see.

A&M - Reggie, Branyon, McGee
Ou - Bomar, Thompson,Grady
tu - Vince, McCoy, Nordgren
osu - Woods, Reid, Pena

I could go on but I'd rather have in this order
A&M, ou, osu then tu's qb trio.
A&M being #1 tu 4

Come on..I hate the sips as much as the next guy but their season does not hinge on Young. At least they better hope not.

If we had Mccoy and Nordgren as backups I'd be crapping my pants right now. I don't care how good you are. If you lose your qb who is good and have no back up, you can forget it.

So many variables...will the running game be dependable? Will the receivers be markedly improved?

Let's assume the answer to both is "yes"...

If we lose Vince before game 1, we lose 2 for sure and likely another 1 or 2...but A&M will not be one of those losses.

Nordgren is better than you're giving him credit for.

And by way of explanation, the reason A&M will not be one of those losses is that the game is at the end of the season. If VY goes down and Nordgren started his first game against A&M, then I'd mark it in the loss column.

But the talent gap across the rest of the field (and on the bench) is still too great for the Ags to win it this year, IMHO.

You guys rely on Vince to make offense out of nothing. Nordgren isn't going to run for a 4th and 18. If Young goes down, you guys will have to do a 180 on offense, and I don't care if he blows his knee out next week in practice, you guys will be !@#$%^

McNeal is equally important to our season, but we won't have to change the playbook with either McGee or Branyon, so not anywhere near as devastating. Besides, Branyon has proven himself. When Nordgren leads a couple of TD drives against OU then you guys can start feeling as cocky as usual.

But hell, you guys could beat us with Greg Davis himself at QB. The talent is just too much. Just put Tony Hills at QB, and give us an extra defender to make it fair.

Depends on when we would lose him...We lose him the first game...We lose 5 (at least)...lose him mid-season...We lose 3-4 (including any bowl game). To be fair, if A&M loses Reggie (say in the 3rd game), you guys lose 5...

W.E. Henley,

Have you not been to a game at Kyle Field? I know that talent-wise t.u. has the edge, but thats the beauty of Kyle Field and the 12th Man.

You never really know whats gonna happen....

We could surprise....
And we could lose.....

Never the less it should be exciting to watch...

I readily concede that it could be a loss. I'm not trying to pass my opinion off as fact.

I just think that the OL and DL will give the Horns the edge in every game this season. Therefore the only reason for a loss would be the skill players (or, on D, the back 7) overcoming that advantage. OU and tOSU won't be at much of a deficit along the lines, if any, so those games are more up in the air.

I can see A&M's DL lessening that advantage, but I believe (as things stand right now) that UT's DL will work A&M's OL. Given that, and given that I think Nordgren is an adequate QB, I believe he would lead the Horns to victory at Kyle.

I suspect, in the event of losing VY, it would be a gameplan much like Simms' last visit to Kyle.

Personally, i think this (A&M vs. t.u.) will be one of the most respected rival games next season. I know this is kinda getting off topic, but both teams have a very good shot at excellent records and if everything goes in their favors definitely a game day appearance at Kyle on t+1

if we were to lose VY, i can see a loss to Ohio State and OU. Ohio State, early in the season, crowd...OU's blitz happy would give us problems. however, having a well rounded team would give UT a great chance no matter which individual is missing. also, you ags think VY cant pass, so having anyone else in there cant be too much worse, can it?

Here's a newsflash for ya...

Ags aren't the only ones saying he can't pass.

As far as if Radio is injured, it at least will make defenses have to adjust their initial schemes of having to play the run as opposed to having to prepare to face a passing attack.

Even if it is from a 2A punter.......

I see you're class of '08... does that mean you've never seen Texas play at Kyle Field? You do know we have a winning record there, right?

James Brown beat the Ags at "Mighty Kyle" with one leg.

Last time I was at Kyle Field, Horns outnumbered Aggies in the 4th quarter.

Loud "Texas! Fight!" and "pooooooor aggies" chants rang throughout the stadium.

As stated above, Texas has a winning record at DKR East. When we are favored, we almost never lose at Kyle. (Although in '99 we may have been favored by a point or two?)

As far as Matt Nordgren is concerned, he was a highly ranked recruit coming out of hs. Anyone who has seen him in practice knows he's ready if disaster strikes. To say he'd be 4th string at A&M is pretty laughable.

He sucks. Who in the world would he beat out at Texas A&M? Certainly not Real Deal or McGhee, probably not Branyon, and there are any number of talented players bying for #4.

You probably don't realize this, sip boy, but you don't wear a tag with some recruiting ranking assigned by an ignorant fatass like ketch in practice.

ALL HAIL QUEEN MOLE!

Hey dumbass, you do realize the year prior to your one legged gimps game at Kyle, A&M absolutely blew him up at DKKKRJJTP right?

I distinctly remember the "OOOOOOOOH's" when a fully healthy J.B sprinted out towards his sideline, stopped just short of it and tried to pass it anyway. Well, if you remember correctly, he got absolutely crushed and picked for a TD to boot.

No surf, but that was the same game...

This one play, Brown literally sprinted out, running for his life, and stopped instead of going out of bounds...

He was going to try and pass it for whatever reason, and was crushed. The ball flew straight up and was picked.

You do realize that since 1894 (111 games)a&m has only beaten UT 34 times, right? And that 10 of those were your '84-'94 "FedEx Glory Days".

I'll bet.

t.u. will lose 2-3 w/ VY, and w/o him, even Baylor would have a shot!
