tortilla high is historically a poor road team and a poor big-game team. Nebraska will be difficult for them (I don't think they've even come within 30 of corn on the road); OSU will be a tough trip, and OU, UT and A&M have enough up front to get to their quarterback.

I can see 8-3 from the tards, but not any more. I can also see 5-6 or 6-5 if Hodges turns to crap or gets injured.

With expectations as high as they are in Lubbock, a total meltdown would be about right, judging by past history. It would also be funny.

Wrong, Kliff's senior year Nebraska won by 10 in Lincoln, it was tied in the 4th quarter if I remember correctly. And that was when Nebraska was still pretty good.

They gave Texas a run for their money 2 years ago in Austin...

My bad. But I think you know what I mean concerning the program's history. Let's face it, in recent seasons, OU and UT have one the tough road games and A&M and Tech have not. If you do, the sky's the limit. If you don't, you lose confidence and pretty soon, you lose a couple you shouldn't.

OU - another loss until proven otherwise

OSU - should be Tech win with turnover there

I see at absolute best 10-1, with a loss at Texas and a perfect game at home against OU, which is in the realm of possibility.

I see 9-2 as pretty likely, with losses to UT and OU

I see 8-3 as a fairly disappointing season with a the previous losses coupled with a loss at Nebraska, but I see that as Tech's game to win.

Anything less will be a huge disappointment.

Like was mentioned above or on the other thread (can't remember) this is the most wide open Big 12 South since the conference's inception. There's four teams with real shots at winning it with some breaks.

Tech could go undefeated, win the Big XII championship, win the national championship and the all the ags would still be scratching their heads as to how they accomplished it with 5 losses.

Already posting a win against the Ags at home are we?

Tech wins at home versus atm? That's not really far-fetched.

I think not.

When most school's lose a QB - there is a huge question mark. I think Tech is the only school in the country where fans remain comfortable regardless of who is taking the snaps. It's rare and you are lucky to have had bright kids who know the system taking snaps.

Schedule wise, the same can be said for us.

On paper, I think we are better then those teams. However, with our history in Boulder and Lubbock, it will be tough.

Funny thing, if we win at Clemson and KSU, it bolds well for Boulder and Lubbock. If we lose those games, we may lose all four.

OU may kick our sack in, but they are unproven. We all know they are loaded with speed and talent.

UT is loaded up front but has unproven backs and receivers. I actually feel more confident against UT than I have in years.

I firmly believe Tech has a better chance of beating amc this year than Texas does.

Yes.

While I'm not talking up Tech's run D last year, 60s is not terrible, it's middle of the pack. I believe it finished high 60s or low 70s, that was after finishing dead last the year before. I see no reason why it won't improve again this season. The pass D is set, it's possibly one of the best in the conference.

I just don't see Tech winning against OU at all, OU does not have the issues playing in Lubbock and A&M and Texas do. While the Tech fans will be up for that game, I still think OU wins. With regards to A&M/Tech game, until I see A&M win again in Lubbock, I have to give this game to Tech. Likewise goes for Texas/OU, until Texas wins again there, that is a loss for Texas.

Our D was exposed by teams which went something like 45-5.
Utah 12-0
OU - 12-1
UT 11-1
Tenn 10-3

All four of those teams were darn good and all had strengths.
In fact, looking back on the season, we had a real tough schedule and 7 wins was pretty darn good.

EDIT: I won't mention New Mexico on this thread if you won't mention Baylor.

right, but we played one of the toughest schedules in the country, so our numbers arent going to be as good as yours. ill believe tech has a good run defense when i see it, which unfortunately we wont see tech against any kind of competition until halfway through the season.

i do think this is the year they finally make it to 3 losses though. i think theyll lose to 3 out of the 4 of texas, ou, nebraska(depending on if they finally get back to where they used to be) and a&m. their schedule is just to easy for them to not have a great year.

We'll see Welker. With a super unproven qb, who's not to say meltdown for ttu? The biggest pitfall, very much like years past, is when your offense is off the field and bad clock management. I say 1 non-conference loss, IMO, but congrats on the pre-season predictions from certain mags.
