Yeah, I think it was Colin Quinn who recently labeled CNN as "Al Jazeera West" referring to their biased reporting on the war on terrorism.
When CNN first came on the air (in the early-80's I believe), they were actually pretty good. Their original anchors, Bernard Shaw and the other guy whose name escapes me, didn't try to "spin" the news very much in the early years. In fact, many people I knew complained during their early years that it was just "too dry" to watch CNN, since, for the most part, they simply presented video footage along with whatever facts they had.
By the late 80's and early 90's, when CNN's viewership had increased to lofty heights, Ted Turner and his henchman apparently decided to present the news in such a manner to reflect their political views. Since then, it's been pretty hard to watch the 24-hour propaganda.
