Texas fans will be jubilant when the Horns crush Lousiana Lafayette. But apprehensive.
The next week they lose in Ohio and everybody talks about how Mack can't win the big one. Major carping starts and people talk about why they even go to see Texas play Rice the next week.
They beat Rice and everybody forgets who they play after the open week and start peeing on themselves over OU the next week. Everybody puffs up and says "this is our year to beat OU." They lose to OU and people start screaming about Brown being the ressurection of Fred Akers or something and boo when the team takes the field at the next home game. There is major *****ing throughout the stands at any offensive play that doesn't result in a touchdown.
How come Vince has been here four years and still throws like a girl? they shout, faces contorted in anger.
Still, they manage to win the games until they travel to College Station with an 8-2 record and a shot at the Cotton Bowl and plans to demand the firing of Greg Davis. If they lose at College Station they go to the Alamo or worse.
This may be the worst year in Longhorn sports since..........
On the other hand, the baseball team finished third in the Big XII but won the World Series and the football team may surprise as well.
One thing is for sure-----the narrow win over Michigan has Texas fans expecting a 30 game winning streak as a birthright and they are going to be mightily upset at another season with a few losses.
