I DO think Tech has had the upper hand in coaching the past several years. Not to say that Fran isn't going to change that, but he was left with a mess and he didn't have much to coach with. You have to admit, Leach & Co. can do more with less than any other team in the conference, maybe the nation.

BTW....CMack11. Food and liquor are a commodity that I consider elegible for wagering. If you ever do come to Lubbock, you can swing by our tent before and/or after the game. Nothing but a good group of guys that love football. Regarding the money......I'm not rich, I just tend to bet a little more when it comes to games that most Raiders consider "big" (ie. A&M, Texas and whatever bowl game we are playing in.) Win or lose, you're welcome to a plate of ribs and a cold beer at our tailgate. Tech is no doubt in need of more attention on the defensive side of the ball, but you can't question Leach's ability to read and exploit opposing defenses, either. I think it's just a priority issue with him. It seems he'd rather outscore everyone in a foot-race vs. a tough defense that allows you to still win with average offensive numbers. If we could only have the best of both worlds.

Hopefully the defensive recruits will come. Our latest linebacker commit can't hurt, but we need DL help in a big way. Early playing time on defense has to be a draw for some of the more talented recruits. That's what I'm hoping for anyway. We'll see.

We have TWO Big XII South titles.

CMack11 is my tailgating buddy next time he comes to Lubbock, so I'm not jumping in on this to stir up any problems.

The simple fact of the matter is that A&M has had greater overall success than Tech in the history of the two programs...both on a conference and a national level. No arguing that. BUT...head to head their couldn't be much more of an even match up, with A&M winning many of the early meetings (50+ years ago) along with a nice stretch of wins they enjoyed vs. Tech in the early-to-mid 90's. The last 50 games has resulted in A&M going 23-26-1 vs. the Raiders. Of course this all goes out the window each year. Seems like nobody ever knows what to expect which makes it all the more fun.

I don't personally care who calls it a "rivalry" or not. Does it really matter? It's a great match-up on a consistent basis and one I truly look forward to each year.
