Saw limited success early under Pelini
Since then it's been a continuous fail
Former Corn AD met with Bowlsby about a return
Fans were griping about long road trips
Stealth approach from a go-between
Bowlsby interested
Met in Dallas
Groused about CFB
Bowlsby enthusiastic
Additional School would be ideal
Consider Colorado
Informed leadership of his outreach
Some for, some against
Was able to keep it under wraps
How close did it get? Not known.

Firing Frank Solich sped up the process of them falling as far as they have. Keeping him would have at least allowed for a few more seasons of good football.

I doubt they ever get back to good. Even if they spend similar amounts as other schools. Nobody wants to live in Nebraska.
