I agree with everything this guy has to say. Austin is such a dump. Only people from the crappiest parts of California think it's a good place to be.

Used to love Austin. Now Lubbock is the new old Austin.

Sad that people think living in a high crime, homeless-infested city is so desirable.

Austin isn't a dump, but 6th street is a **** hole. Stopped going down there when brunch felt like an episode of The Walking Dead.

I agree. Tarrytown, where I used to live, west of MoPac, Jollyville and Westlake Hills all seem okay, but it is pretty easy to match dysfunction with party voting patterns:

bar crawling on 6th street could be fun in the 80s or 90s. It was mostly college under classmen and high school upper classmen drinking w buddies, or looking for love and maybe a scrap. There was some degree of sanity. seemed very wholesome compared to the hopeless class of morons and loud shameless drunk females ...people w absolutely terrible upbringings, obviously. it went from college town to chaos town

But most of Austin is still very nice w good people living there and good families. You don't have to subject yourself to the bad element if you don't wanna

And the guy with the little car parked on the side of the street that had all the toys glued to it with a sign that said "nothing for sale".

Cousin got married in Austin a couple years ago. We had family in from out of state. Trying to remember a good place to take them from my college days. I knew 6th street was a **** show and non starter so I figured Rainey street. Huge mistake, that's just as bad as 6th st now.
