Good video. BYU was one of a few low tier programs that burst through in the 70s and 80s, they were the most successful other than Miami.

The biggest roadblock in 2004 for Utah was that they were one of 4 undefeated teams, so it was really hard to make a case that they were being treated unfairly. It basically gave voters an excuse to ignore them. It would have been much better to put them against Auburn, and let VT and Pitt play for scraps.
