As explained, the Oregon game was canceled due to their conference change. That late in the game, it's hard to schedule a powerhouse because either their schedule's already set in stone in advance or afraid to face a tough opponent in non-conference.

Are we really having this debate?

Oregon/UNT/Abilene Christian is pretty comparable to Notre Dame/McNeese/Bowling Green. We couldn't have foreseen Oregon having to cancel. Why is this so hard for you to understand?

But watch out! New Mexico State can be salty!

Mizzou is under .500 since 2015 and A&M is barely over .600. Not exactly world beaters. The only true successful seasons for either since the 2 years after leaving the Big 12 were last year for Mizzou and the Covid year for A&M.

The Texas Aggies have the 4th best record in the SEC during our 12 years in football. Behind only Alabama, Georgia and LSU. We crushed the Big 12 champs in the Cotton Bowl in 2012. Not exactly a drop off.
