It's pretty simple: You can't judge a team's tourney performance on which round they lose in. Let's say A&M lost to UConn in the first round by 4 points, but then Texas plays them in the Elite Eight and loses by 20. You can't say Texas did better in the tourney just because they got to the Elite Eight while A&M lost in the First Round.
