You're either little 0-12's sock or y'all are twin sisters- not sure which. Your schtick is exactly the same.

trying to save this thread. a decent idea poorly executed by yeoman

First, we eliminate from Top Contention all the private schools, commuter schools, directional schools, schools named after someone. Let them sort themselves out. They all suck. And, we eliminate Tx Tech. Their preseason hype is now being called the greatest deception in the history of college football, or "The Big Lie."

This leaves us with the Aggies and the Longhorns.
NEXT
I'm not obsessed. let's get that out of the way. also, Aggie tackling is not good. One of the unfortunate traditions. It is what it is. so that discussion is also off the table. we're not kicking dead horses. (poor aggie tackling may have impacted the statistics that are about to be revealed...so we'll keep it in the back of our minds.)

NM Lobos total yards v Aggies 222
Rice U total offense v Horns 176
NM Lobos rushing 91
Rice U rushing 27

so this is typical for all the stats, on both sides of the ball. It goes on and on. Texas played a tougher opponent at home and outperformed the Ags. It shows up in the statistics. We sacrificed a few garbage Tds and worked out our kicker and special teams. In hindsight it's maybe something y'all should have done considering the blocked field goal. At the end of the day we're above you.

That's really high for Baylor. It was 4 hours of total garbage. They are looking at 1-11.

Didn't "Uhpgrade" need a very, VERY generous spot from the refs to beat UT-Commuter College of SA?

At least there is an attempt at reasoning behind this analysis. Both teams' DL will be challenged this weekend. Should be interesting.

I'm finally humbled. thank you sir. I just mainly go by the data. Others compile it. the real heroes.
imho reasonable analysis is the way forward.

Just curious. I had a family member in the Longhorn band when it was "Show Band of the Southwest".

Does it now become "Show Band of the Southeast"?

Our tackling was not great. I saw several times us going for the kill shot but no wrap or follow thru. Defense has taken a significant step back from the Elko defense.

I have to agree. I guess my expectations are out of whack. I expect when an SEC defensive line faces a New Mexico ( or Sam Houston State last year ) I expect the QB to be running for his life and the running game stuffed at the LOS. I didn't see either. Oddly enough, in the 4th quarter, the announcers were making our defense out to be the 85 Bears.

I included "directional schools" and so did you in your criteria.

I will adjust the list after this weekend

well I thought Texas could pick up 2 yards at will. nope. I always think our OL is gonna come out and dominate the LOS against a team like Rice. and we don't
