If you give them the choice of an equal payday for everyone that nets them another 16 million or one where they make make 8 but everyone else only gets 2 then they'll take that option every time.

They want systemic, built in advantage over their competitors because as history bears out, their teams are nothing special on an even, neutral playing field

The sad part of all this is it didn't take a rocket surgeon to figure this all out back in the day by looking at the NFL and seeing the real value is in 1) the strength of your league and 2) the massive content it can provide (both of which work hand in hand). This is how the big money is generated.

the other schools in the big12 have no leverage and tu knows this so they exploit it to their benefit.. it's what they do regardless of how shortsighted it is.
