That that was a no-call and Saturday's "hit" by Renfro was flagged is criminal

The BDF replay crew even had the entire 10 minutes or so while the ND player was laying semi conscious on the turf to review it. Still no flag.

He even launched into him a little. How long have those targeting rules been around?

The summer previous to that game was when they implemented the rule allowing replay officials to call a targeting penalty even when it wasnt called on the field.

There was the time in 2012 when Oklahoma State appeared to pop the ball out from Joe Bergeron on a game-winning TD, but since refs called it a TD on the field, it was a TD. The Big 12 reportedly called Oklahoma State after the game to apologize for the blown call (that report was disputed).


There was the time in 2011 when Texas A&M's Trent Hunter got called for a personal foul on a last-minute play that didn't seem to warrant a personal foul, with Hunter appearing to pull up to avoid contact in the instants after an incomplete pass. That pushed Texas 15 yards closer to the end zone, Texas hit a game-winning FG, and Texas exited its A&M rivalry with a win. After the game, Hunter tweeted an image said to show the official who made the call dressed in Texas gear.


There was the time in 2009 when Texas got an extra second added to the Big 12 Championship, then kickeda game-winning field goal against Nebraska. That's normally not a task under the officials' purview, but they went back to fix what they deemed an "egregious" error. (To be fair, that pass totally hit the ground with a second left.)
There was the time Mike Leach got so upset about a holding call that negated a touchdown that he called the Big 12 head of officials during the game, then went on a rant about the sanctity of having Austin-area officials call games involving Texas.


There was the time Mark Mangino got so upset about a pass interference call that he openly implied refs were rigging the game to clear Texas' path to the BCS.


There was the time a ref apparently fist-pumped while signaling a Texas touchdown against Colorado.

And then there was Jon Bible out there to bail them out for years.

Because they went to the TV clock for the replay, when the official time is always kept on the field. They called it over in real time, then went to a ESIPN delayed broadcast for undisputed video evidence to overturn the call.

No call was overturned because the official never called the game over. They reviewed it with the game clock, not the "TV clock."

My point is that they got the call correct on this one and shouldn't belong in the "sip biased referee" compilation.

As I recall, game clock was at 0, TV clock was at 1. Dgaf either way, but that is what Nebraska fans remember.

Today that player would be ejected for targeting.

Tech vs sip in Austin last year. Late 4th quarter, play before Tech throws game winning TD. Disbelieving Tim Brando and Spencer Tillman have to bite their lips while repeatedly replaying the no call (before and after the commercial break). This one needs to be archived on this long overdue thread. I don't know how or I would.

This is so egregious it ain't even funny. Place your cursor over the play button and close your eyes. Click it to start the clip then click it again the moment you hear the whistle. Open your eyes and you'll be at the 05 second point in the video and ISU guy is in mid-stride going the other way.
