Could of been worse for Tech but they flipped a 2* LB from Oklahoma with an offer from Central Oklahoma at the last minute to keep from being ranked in the 80's.

This is the new norm for Tech. They had a cool factor when they introduced the air raid with Leach but that was almost 2 decades ago. Lubbock may be the ugliest, flattest city of its size in the country, definitely in Texas. Then you have to deal with periodic dust storms, the smell of cow manure, and a near constant heavy wind. The school has always been a last resort for students and now it's a last resort for players as well.

When you say you wanna go JUCO nowdays, tech is the place to go.

Not really. Leach was looking around on his own dime pretty much every summer. And yeah the James stuff was stupid, but you still can't tell your boss to GFY and stay employed.

Baylor and TCU recruiting well is what's going to do TBAT in. Throw in UH wanting to make a push to be a good program along with every SEC school recruiting in Texas and TBAT is just left in the cold...the dusty, manure tinged cold with the dying embers of the 2008 season glowing faintly

I left nearly four years ago and did what anybody in Lubbock does who doesn't stay there forever... I moved to the Metroplex. I enjoy the fact that I used to live there and currently don't anymore.

They might have had that back in 2010. Not sure they have it any longer. UofH just has more state reps, by number and TCU has their rich guy bought politicos.

Tech is screwed, IMO.

On the glass is half full side, maybe Jimbo has a "consulting group" for analyzing QB talent and he recreates the Saban Home for Rehabilitation of Coaches clinic here and brings Kliffy on.

Guy does have an eye for QB talent, even if he doesn't quite know how to develop and manage them yet.

Recruiting is a leading indicator / predictor in college sports.

After Tech's two consecutive dismal recruiting classes, that means poor Tech already has one foot in the basement of future B12 football standings.

Pretty soon in football, they'll even be getting passed by Kansas and Baylor.
