There's no such thing as all else equal... proof that you guys have no clue.

so one $5 bill is not the same as another $5 bill?

ttechguy

Ok, if all else was equal, then I guess you'd have to go with a coin flip. Equal is equal.

"all else equal" would imply the attributes in the candidates are equal, not the decision.

I hear you. You'd have to flip a coin since there are no differences.
SCAT BACK

the difference is in the difficulty and value of degree, all else equal.

Again, "all else equal" applies to the attributes of the candidates, not the decision.

flipping a coin is making the decision "equal".

Who cares about the difficulty of the degree?...the 2 people are of equal intelligence, have the same work ethic, and would've achieved the same GPA had they switched schools...and the interviewer knows this because he considers them equal.

That would take 4 years do, give or take.

you're in the "real world", are master's and phd's or other forms of education worthless?

ttechguy

It all depends on what you're trying to do and what your skills are. In some industries, they are worthless. The emphasis is on your skills and how you perform...that's it. I've only worked for 2 companies since I've been out...maybe somebody proficient in job hopping has more insight. You've heard of both companies. Both absolutely want you to have a degree, but it makes no difference at all where it's from.

To all the tards who posted on this thread:
You guys realize, of course, that this whole thread -- like most of the TT threads started by Ags/sips -- was intended to bait you, right?

Reeling 'em in. It's a pity how TT comes running eventhough they have seen the trap many a times.

Busted. You guys are too clever for me.

Coin flip, 2 out of 3:
#1:heads it is, tektard is gay
#2:tails it is, tektard is gay
#3:heads it is, tektard is gay

Heads wins and the consensus says Tektard is gay

Edit: quote added for clarity.

That's a good story. I've got an even better one. I'm a professor at Harvard in my spare time and the other day I was at the mall buying some jewelry for one of my many girlfriends. So this janitor walks up to me and says "you went to Texas Tech?" "I'm sorry" (sarcasm is thick). Then he tells me he has two degrees from UT and A&M. I couln't talk to him any longer because I was laughing so hard I puked on the floor and he had to get busy cleaning it up.

No,no,no! You've got it all wrong. I didn't get stuck at Texas Tech. I chose Tech over Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Columbia, Dartmouth, Brown, Oxford, Stanford, and San Jacinto JC.
