Unfortunately, in Lubbock, yes. I guess the Four Seasons Downtown may be a little nicer.

Lubbock is in desperate need of higher quality conference hotels.

Wasn't that because blow u couldn't differentiate between an "all athlete dorm" and an armory?

I've stayed at that place many times over the years. For a long time, it was like I-45 between Houston and Dallas -- always under construction. Now, it's got that biga&& atrium, which is understandable given the elements there, but it's like this dark aircraft hangar. Sorta spooky, even in the middle of the day. And then, at night, when like 1 or 2 kids start making noise, it echoes throughout the entire property.
College towns generally have crappy motels and their hotels ain't much better.
