Cockiness(UT) versus Swagger(TAMU)

I have always admired aTm for being tough as nails on defense and that gave them some swagger. They were always the underdogs heading into games and polled out a lot of wins in the 90s.

Unfortunately for UT we always rode the hype machine and expected to win without understanding how to do it, cockiness. For the last three years we were not the underdog by any large margin and failed to win. Yet now we are the underdog and just come off a game where we had to fight back to win. The result is a swagger in our team and fans....and a QB tough enough to play on a sprained ankle and still run option plays. That is swagger too.

I hope atm gets it's swagger back and puts together the Wrecking Crew again. This was something I always looked towards in November about that game....Was Texas going to get past the Wrecking Crew.

The season is still young and Fran has the experience to take what you have now and win this year. I am sure wins over OU and Texas would erase the pain of losing to Tech, I just hope we leave Kyle with a win.

Losing to OU for three years straight and losing to Arkansas. For the most part we were always predicted to win. Now we are the underdog heading into the contest and we are hungry!

Yes, I agree, with the big win over KSU, UT has gained a sense of confidence. However, the "biggest" game of the year is about to happen. A lot of the UT faithful have bad feelings about this game, perhaps from past years experience, but also possibly from reality. In order for UT to have a chance, their offensive line MUST provide protection for whichever QB (Young gives us a better chance) and the D-line must get pressure on White and force him to make errors. If these two things don't happen then UT will be in for a long day.

It's been a while since I've felt that A&M Football had any kind of swagger. In 1998, I was confident that A&M could hang with anyone, and they did. Since then, it's been hit and miss. The early 90s were the epitomy of Wrecking Crew Football; that was destruction exemplified.

This is 2003, not 1993.

Pep - you justed repeated what every newspaper has printed today. It's college football and anything can happen. It all breaks down to coaching IMHO and how desciplined our guys are. I think the last few years we lacked any sort of test before this game. Now we have lost to a very good Arkansas team(humbling) and beat a good K St in a come-from-behind dual. We are primed to do well.

Roberson got a little careless with the ball as K-State was about to put the game out of reach late in the fourth quarter...don't get too excited about detroying OU...probably not going to happen.
