I'm not sure what's more pathetic, that list as your "murderers row", or being on the tu schedule and not making the list.

If Whootex is really in an "attractive income bracket" then he's living proof you don't have to be smart to make good money.

That dude is dumber then a door knob.

Lucky gene pool, most likely. Son of a successful person, or married well, perhaps. Every company has some degree of dead wood nepotism.

The expectations for me are around 7-8 wins this yr.

This isn't news. I have never said anything otherwise except that Texas had a good recruiting class this year and will look to build on his first full class with another good one next year w focus on QB and DL.

2014 - The season of getting rid of the bad culture
2015 - The season of finding a quarterback, either on the field or in high school
2016 - The season where the Longhorns learn how to win
2017 - The season where Longhorns challenge for conference supremacy
2018 - The season where the Longhorns return to national prominence

Sound about right?

Yep. 2016 will be a big year for Strong.

Keep on looking towards next year. What ever it takes, keep blindly supporting Strong.

Sorry for the bump, but the fallout over the increase in ticket prices, parking pass prices, tailgate places being sold, increased required donation levels and forfeiture if tickets are resold on the secondary market is continuing. As this shag poster so eloquently phrased it:

quote:
their idea of market value is absurd. there is ZERO market for Rice, KU and the market for a thanksgiving night game against TT is virtually zero.

THat means my market value per game for Cal, Okie **** and Wheat **** are the only games that have any marketable value, and that is pretty thin. However, assuming they know that the Rice, KU and TT have no value they are now telling me that per seat my market value for 3 games is 543.33. That does not include parking for said game or OU ticket factor into the equation.

I am in the top 8% of donors. I have been a mid level donor for 19 years. I am pretty much resigned that this is my last season. I will pay scalpers prices for notre dame next year and OU, and you can have the rest of this POS product on the field, POS conference, and POS home schedule.

Good God. We had some down years, but i have NEVER heard an Aggie speak as if Waco is a place to be feared or even respected.

I could almost feel sorry for them if it weren't for the fact they suck so violently.

Such a colossal blunder by Dodds, in every possible way. The conference is just crap, and will likely be crap until it craps out and dies.

IMO, it's only a matter of time before tu begins winning again. They are out recruiting everyone in their conference. They have some real needs that they still need to fill but CS will have their defense playing well enough to keep them in a lot of games.

Their conference isn't very good and i don't believe any BDF conference champion will have much luck in the CFP. However, tu's margin for error is small and CS really has it pretty easy all things considered.

I realize this is an unpopular option here but it is what it is.

Sure, tu will recover to some extent, sooner or later. Not seeing that Strong is gonna get there. He has Muschamp disease. Defensive HC who hires offensive staff who aren't up to snuff. Only, no one will be offering Strong 1.7 million a year to be a DC.

Some more fallout from the shag:

quote:
I've made my decision - I am not renewing my Touchdown Club tickets.

If I renew at the grandfathered price, I'll be paying over $5,400 for my pair plus parking. If I renew at the new donation level which would allow me to sell for games I can't attend, I'm looking at over $7,400 for the pair.

For that price I'll be able to buy 4 tickets for my family to Notre Dame and multiple really good tickets to home games. In fact, if resale prices are anything close to last year I'll be able to sit in the exact same Touchdown Club seats for most games and still have money left over by buying on Stubhub. There is no way to economically justify being a season ticket holder, especially for the better seat locations. Patterson's talking point that "people are profiting off of reselling their seats" is laughable except for a select few who are grandfathered at ridiculously low levels. For everyone else, it's just a way to slightly and partially recoup your losses when you can't make it to a game. I'm not going to pay extra for that "privilege."

I have two degrees from UT and love to support my school, but this cash grab is ill timed and poorly planned and I won't participate.

These clips from the Shag are really bad. I had season tickets through both the Fran and Sherm eras but I always had hope and was optimistic. These longtime sip season ticket holders are not optimistic and do not have any hope for the future and they are mad at how they are being treated. They see a bad team in a bad conference with an lousy home schedule and an Athletic Dept. that is just shaking them down for more cash. Going to be real hard to turn this ship around. Even if they start winning the loyal fans are going to remember their feeling of being shaken down and taken advantage of.

Some will have short memories, if the drought isn't too long.

After 8-10 years*?? And the horns are making less tv money than we are?? Strong will outlast Patterson, maybe by a few weeks, maybe as long as a year. The next AD and HC football coach better be a homerun hire though. And even then, might be too little too late to make up for the $$$ differential.

Seems like the move would drive up prices on stub hub. You cut supply by forcing those who stayed on the cheap tickets out of the market. Would be interesting to see if all those "i could have bought them creeper on stub hub find out that doesn't work after they drops their tickets. Cutting off the resale supply will also make it easier for the school to unload the groupon specials.

Alas, i think they will ends up with fewer in the stands, the money may still increase by shifting everyone who stays season ticket holders to higher priced tickets.

It would be nice to see some of their fans try to sue them though.

8-10 Years ??? God I hope so. The sips Deserve an Epic Crushoning after what they did to the BDF and tried to do to us and the other teams that were lucky to escape.

I think that Chollie gets at least two more seasons, hopefully three. I think that Chollie never gets above 8-5 in a season and regularly get crushed in Bowl Games. I think that the sips will have the same troubles in hiring his replacement. Too much politics for most coaches, lousy conference, unhappy fans, unrealistic expectations, etc.

The only way to really turn the sips ship around is to get out of the GOR, ditch the LHN and get into another conference. The first two are probably going to take 8-10 years. Getting into another conference will be problematic since the PAC has Colorado, the B1G has Nebraska and the SEC has A&M, Ark and Missouri all telling stories about how bad the sips are to work with.

Every sip recruit starting in '16 ought to give a lot of thought to committing to the whornville nation rather than the Chobbit because chollie ain't making it more than 3 yrs.
