Let's ride.
quote:I think they did the same thing to the Baylor QB.
Two years ago they signed a TE to play QB.
Four years ago they tried to sign a Heisman winning QB to play DB.
quote:Why the **** did we go all in for Kyler when we could have had a shot at that dude? Those are some mindblowing stats!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dude threw for almost 1100 yards his senior year and FIVE touchdowns
quote:
Good kid, good athlete. He wants to be redshirted, which is a good thing -- because as a qb prospect, he is a project. He needs 3 years to develop. He won't help them at all in 2015 and probably won't help in 2016 either. Maybe the sips' next coaching staff (after Strong is fired at the end of the 2016 season) can develop him into a serviceable div-1 college qb.

@max_olson: New Texas QB commit Kai Locksley on redshirting: "Absolutely not. That's not my intention."
quote:Hey-Ohhh
Ed McMahon gave him three and three quarter stars

Their QB commit:
1,110 yards passing, 5 touchdowns
Our CB commit:
3,379 yards passing and 47 touchdowns (also 1 INT in 300+ attempts)

Someone posted RSJ's senior year stats as a QB on premium. They were very similar to this new sip QB commit.

Have any of you even seen his film?

"FSU, Texas and all schools I'm involved with [are recruiting me] at quarterback. [The] Under Armour game has nothing to do with my recruitment."
In case there was any doubt, Locksley added:
"The schools that were interested in me as a wide receiver were crossed off my list before I had a top 10. That receiver stuff is dead, and has been dead."
We asked Locksley about a report that FSU had talked to him about playing wide receiver, and got more of the same:
"Yeah that was false. [FSU is] strictly quarterback. Wide receiver has never been brought up by a coach, only media."
In other words, he was being recruited by all 4 playoff teams at QB. Obviously Texas current QB depth is the most enticing. Project? Sure he is raw and he may never develope. But he has upside no doubt and we needed the depth and it cost us nothing.
Hell, for all you know Kyler may end up in MLB before he ever takes a down for you at QB
quote:This just in - the chance that Kyler Murray goes to the MLB makes him less valuable than getting another "raw and he may never develop" brisket QB. Seems tu dodged a real bullet by Kyler choosing to come to A&M.
