At least they are playing their starters. Unlike the Giants who saw fit to rest all 8 regular position players today.

But you are right, by the way.

the reds starting pitcher was called up from AA on September 6...yeah they are throwing their best players at the Giants.

The Giants while giving the regulars a day off still threw one of their regular starters.

I doubt Thursday will be any better. We will have to depend on the Bucs, but they are more of a spoiler than Cincy. I'd feel a lot better about it if the pirates had not had a blue light special with their roster two months ago.

Well, it's at Wrigley and Prior and Wood are going Sat and Sunday.

It doesn't look good.

It's looking like the Stros might have to win out.

They may not be good enough, I don't think the Cubs will lose again. They have Zambrano, Clement (weakest link), Prior and Wood set up.

The best news is that if the Stros and Cubs tie and play a playoff game then the Stros will have Oswalt for that game while the Cubs will go with either Estes or maybe Zambrano. But the Stros have to win out this weekend, plain and simple. Those two losses in StL really hurt.

Yesterday was a must win and we got it. I was sitting right behind the astros bullpen yesterday...as corny as this sounds, I could tell Wagner was going to mow them down when he was warming up. He looked f@ckin pissed.

I guess it takes blowing one of the biggest games of the year to get him prepared to pitch.

He blew it...but at least he threw strikes. I'm still horse from yelling at Lidge/Dotel. I think my t.v. got scared of me!

Some of these bums are staring straight in the face of being traded to the Montreal/San Juan/Mexico DF Expos barring a major miracle. Wait 'til their wives get wind of living in a barrio instead of a palace in Ft. Bend. Cincinnati will roll over like the dogs they are today. Maybe Pittsburg will gut up and show a little class.

Forget about the Cubs, I think the 'Stros will ahve a really hard time sweeping these last 4 games, starting with the game tonight.

Cajun, he was on a pretty respectable pace there until he got injured. 126 K's in 381 AB's.. close to Hernandez's 188 in 525 in 2002. Dunn K'ed a remarkable 33% of the time.

Dags,

You will fit right in with the loser white sox fans who show up to root against the Cubs.

Here's an idea: if you want to support the Astros, go to an Astros game.

Shoulders-

I assume if he is in Chicago going to the Astros game could be problematic since it is in Houston .

What is the problem with going to a team's home stadium and rooting against them?

Don't they use head-to-head record as the tie-breaker ? I think the Cubs won the season series.
