Good old Bob. Always the victim. He spent a LOT of money to look legitimate to other horn fans. Don't think for a second any of that stuff was charity like he tried to argue. It made him feel big time and, to the type of chode that would post on LFZ, it made him look big time. He loved the attention that collection of cross-eyed weirdos sent his way. If he'd actually gotten a degree, maybe he wouldn't have had to work so hard to fit in.

He even tried his hand at "recruiting guru" for a while, showing up to kids' practices and playing journalist. That's about when Ol' Freak Nasty kicked him out of practice and he got butthurt. Think about it - Longhorn Bob tried to be Ketch but didn't have the chops. That's some depressing **** right there.

There has never been a single human being that epitomized the stereotype of "Internet Football Expert" like Bob Wheeler. He is absolutely eaten up with little man syndrome on top of it.

When he first disappeared after the bus incident, I thought for sure he had David Carradined himself.

That's all true about Wheeler. But his post-game write ups in 1997 were hysterical reads.

Thanks for the clarification Bohunk. I used to lurk on Hornfans more than a decade ago for some UT football insight. That message board has become a ghost town in the past few years. Some of the more clever posters started Barking Carnival and some of the rest followed them. I miss the Barking Carnival of circa 2008-2009 because they were more of a humor site (and dang funny at that). Now after being absorbed into SB Nation they are more serious and it is not nearly as fun.

I remember the Bob Wheeler Okie Lite chartered Bus fiasco on Hornfans. That was high comedy. That was a long time ago and it still make me chuckle.

Those early days were fun with LH Boob here 24/7, and Branding Iron was somewhat sane and funny.

He told me he was going to "kick my ****ing ass" because I suggested "Forgery - A Hot Fire" after his group travel $$$ escapades. I'm still in hiding. What a temper on that dwarf!

I've mellowed a bit; if he still wants to follow through, I'd just grab him by his diaper and fling him into a dumpster...without a BDF, however. I don't think he can be any more "forged"...

He threatened me to a fight as well. I know he and Branding Iron threatened to beat each other up almost daily.

He owned a home medical supply business or some such in Tyler and I think also some rental properties.

Not sure why he needed to scam people out or bus fare but who knows. It probably costs a lot to get a crappy book self-published.
