Well, the sips have LBJ associated with UT. I'd actually take Clinton over Johnson.

Clinton vs Johnson. Which was worse? That is a pick'em and a hell of a debate topic.

I loved last year's SECCG. Ark never had a chance...

Mike Price... Larry Eustachy... Jim Harrick... I would like to take this opportunity to thank God for Mark Richt.

Nah, you don't have to pick. I guess I agree with the original post, it's a fair reason to dislike Arkansas.

If you think Bush's tax cuts are working, talk to 3 million people who aren't.

Jock, stick to athletis and leave economic analysis to others..youve been watching/reading too much liberal media.. yeah, always a bad idea for the economy to give people back their own tax money.."keeping it real"....ever hear of the reasons we fought against england in the first place?? i would rather have the govt. in debt than to have them have a surplus of my earned dollars. you must be a fiscal liberal (see my profile for what must happen to all of those).

Not sure yet. I voted for Bush in 2000 and am a huge fan of 41. I've had the opportunity to listen to Wesley Clark speak a few times and was impressed. Of course, I realize that's not really a legitimate basis to determine his ability to run a country. In my humble opinion, GWB could give a rat's ass about common man.

"GWB could give a crap about the common man"....i respect your right to have an opinion, but your're probably better off voting for howard dean or john kerry..GWB has carried us through a difficult period like no ohter man could have (except for the gipper)..IMHO GWB is one of the best presidents weve ever had...the economy is coming around...

The LBJ vs Clinton argument is a joke right? While I don't agree with either of them, LBJ had the country's best interest in mind (IMO) and instead of trying to hold onto power declined to run for re-election. Clinton was all about himself, and rode the wave of the internet to a good economy that was built on an electronic bubble that burst and gave us our current economy.

Come on 99. Clinton was a skirt chasing idiot bubba. But LBJ was definitly a crook. I'm sure you have heard of the stories about dead people voting for LBJ in Duvall county. But if I'm not mistaken, LBJ attended the University formally known as SWTSU.

Guys - don't get me wrong, I'm not defending one or the other. Clinton's greatest crime against America was that he knowingly compromised US National Security on multiple occasions. Granted, he did a lot of other things that are all already proving to have long term negative effects, but that is the worst.

LBJ on the other hand probably never really compromised US security unless you count the fact that he tied up about 40% of the US military's conventional resources on a tiny sh*thole of a country with little or no strategic value to the US. However, that little exercise in humility filled about 55,000 platic sacks with American GI's. I think that most historians now agree that Kennedy was convinced there was no real interest to the US to get further involved in Vietnam. Then he was killed. Then LBJ sank us in it over our head resulting in 55,000 dead Americans and ushering in a decade that marked one of the lowest points in US military history.

I think both Clinton and LBJ did a few things that were good for the country like the Civil Rights Act and massive infastructure investment (under LBJ) and Wefare reform (under Clinton) but that is about all I can say about them. Overall both presidents have caused extrememly bad long term effects on the country.

As for Bush 43, I like him. I agree with spooky that he has been a solid war time president that has to face challenges no president has seen since 1941 and only a handful of US presidents have ever dealt with in the entire history of the US. I give him his props there. On the flip side, as a conservative I am very unhappy with the overall performance of the Republican party. They have caved and/or remained silent on too many social issues that have huge implications on our society culture. They have also spent money (on non-war effort causes) at the rate that the tax and spend liberals have. It's make politics increasingly harder to stomach. That's why I no longer call myself a Republican.

I am a Conservative that votes Republican only because I have no other choice and must oppose the far left.

Clinton is down in Arkansas with Christmas right around the corner. He's thinking, what the hell am I going to get Hillary and Chelsea for presents? While visiting the UA campus, he notices a farmer selling cute little pink piglets out of the back of his truck. Willy thinks, hey that sounds like a great idea.

Hours later, Marine 1 lands at the White House. As Clinton departs the aircraft, the Marine standing their to greet his gives him a quizical look. Clinton looks at the young Marine and says, "What do you think of these little pigs? I got one for Hillary and one for Cheslea."

The young Marine replies, "Good trade sir!"

Clark is so bad, even CLINTON had to fire him.

I wouldn't ask Clark for directions.

Didn't know about that, I was thinking of all the voter's scandals in Chicago in the 50s and 60s...hence the phrase vote early and vote often came from.

To expound on what Urban said, the problem we face as conservatives in that the “center” has moved further and further to the left. So when someone says they are a centrist, they're really a liberal (esp. of they are a politician saying they are a centrist) they just aren’t as whacked out as the far left. Speaking of the far left, they come across looking more normal than do conservatives, thanks in large part to the media’s portrayal of the right.

How many TV shows today base a large portion of their premise around homosexual culture? And if you are opposed to this “expression”, you are labeled a bigot who needs to socially evolve (yet religious expression is taboo?). It’s a slippery slope, and one has to wonder if we've slid too far to do anything about it. The snowballing effect has really picked up in the last few years.

History has shown that extreme moral corruption has not worked well for many of the great societies in the past. But ah, I digress.

George Bush fired 3,000,000 people?

The economy was in decline when Slick was in office. 9-11 exascerbated it, but actually may have taken some of the sting out of the recession by bottoming out almost immediately. Bush has concentrated first and foremost on national security, as he should have. But he hasn't neglected the economy or anyone in it.

Besides, the president's job is not to care about the "common man", as Slick conned people into thinking he did. But he's not so stupid that he doesn't know the "common man" votes.

And if you don't like the way the economy behaves when a businessman is in the White House, what the hell do you want a minor general in there for?

I hate to offend all you Bushies out there, but the term "businessman" applied to W. did bring a chuckle. His record in that arena was laughable.
