Which means that for half of the season and most of the home games, he will not be there.

Does this hurt Ohio State's chances for a repeat at the NC? Big 10 Champs?

I hope so. I think they might still be Big 10 champs, but that's about it.

I wonder if he's really worth the hassle he's become. High maintenance.

I am going with Michigan. I can see OSU losing to Washington now.

Mike Price... Larry Eustachy... Jim Harrick... I would like to take this opportunity to thank God for Mark Richt.

Washington is going to be a huge game here in Columbus for several reasons. It's the Season opener after a Championship year, its against a Top 25 team, and the Buckeye faithful are hoping and praying that Maurice becomes a non-factor (i.e. that they can win without him), although he'll be missed on the field.

It's too bad it's on at the same time as the Aggie game, because I would have loved to watch it. I saw them play Tech last year, and you could tell that there was something special about that Ohio State team (and Tech was its usual crappy self).

I guess we can switch channels during the Aggie game commercials if needed...

I like the Bucks-but last year everything fell right for them, the schedule etc. I figure they will lose a game somewhere along the line. Michigan is always overrated--so is the Big 10.

I am a Buckeye fan but if they were in the Big 12 last year they would have lost a game or two.

I agree. Tech didn't beat a single respectable team on the road last year, except maybe New Mexico.

WahooSam -- I love you.

Why aren't there more people like you in Columbus?

Oooh I guess you want to include A&M in that one.

I was extremely dissappointed in Texas Tech at that game. I expected them to give Ohio State a run for their money. I was embarrassed for them on behalf of the Big XII.

Yeah, Tech outscored us blah blah blah. But my eyes do not deceive me, and Tech just played plain crappy against Ohio State. Which is why OSU scored 45 points against them in that game.

Anyway, this is meant to be an Ohio State bash column, not a Tech vs A&M one.

Just read that on the SportsCenter Bottom Line. That is a pretty big blow to OSU .But don't they have another Maurice at RB? I heard he was really good. If he is out for 6 games thean I say redshirt him. That other guy sounds really good from what I have heard.

If you read my boyfriend Kirk Herbstreit's column on ESPN.com, he said it shouldn't be too much of a shock for the team until midseason.

And, of course, Kirk doesn't know he's my bf yet...

are you at least a chick?

Jim Brown was floating that if the suspension was more than 2 game Mo Clarrett would go play professionally either in Canada or go to court to play in the NFL.

I hope he does do that. NFL history is littered with "could have been" players like him.

If an aggie was disappointed in the Red Raider's play, you can imagine how I felt.

BTW, I lived in Columbus in the mid 90's and my girlfriend at the time was waiting tables part time at a local eatery, saving a little money for grad school. Kirk lived in the area and would regularly bring his family to her place of employment. His kids would always ask for her section, and were extremely disappointed if she was off. She said he was very nice, but that his wife did most of the talking and that he spent most of the time trying not to be noticed.

And she thought he was hot.

OhioAg98- As you know-Columbus is nuts. Buckeye football 365 days a year. The C-Bus all-sports station- all they have on there is former Bucks. Raymont Harris has a show, Speilman has a show etc.. It's a wonder they don't dig up Woody Hayes and give him a show.
