These guys are idiots. They act like we just came up with this whole Texas Aggie thing this week. We have been calling ourselves that since as long as I, or anyone else, can remember.

I think it is a simple misunderstanding of the way we are using the name Texas. We call ourselves Texas Aggies as our name, regardless of what the name of our school is (Texas A&M). We could change our name to Baylor and we would still call ourselves the Texas Aggies bc that is who we are.

They, on the other hand, place the word Texas before the word Longhorns bc that is what they call their school, and thus get the name Texas Longhorns.

I dont know, but that seems pretty simple and tivial to me. I dont know why they dont understand it.

The Texas Aggies thing doesn't bother me in the least. I'm not sure why it's such a big deal to either group. The Ags are all excited about it like it's the greatest decision ever made; and, the Horns are all upset about it like it's the dumbest thing ever. I just don't get it.

But, I will point out, that both sides comment on whatever the other side does or says. The Horns are no better or worse at their obsessive, compulsive nature in commenting what the Ags do or say. I see just as much whining on both sites.

There are all sorts of Aggies. You got your Okie Aggies, your Kansas St. Aggies, your Mississippi St Aggies - you can't hardly throw a rock without hitting some sort of out-of-state agricultural type. Texas even plays some sort of New Mexico style of Aggie in about 2 weeks.

Actually, we've been the Texas Aggies for decades and decades. If someone still has the article from the 40's (I believe), it even made reference to the "Texas Aggies" playing "Texas University". We've been the Texas Aggies forever, and you've been texas university forever.

Thinking this is something we just came up with only shows your sip-ness.

Muy, I was referring to the decision to put "Texas Aggies" in the Kyle Field end zones. The history is why I don't see this as such a big deal. It's been around for a while.

You guys can call yourselves whatever kind of Aggies you want. It doesn't bother me in the least. If you want to call yourselves the University of Texas Aggies, then have at it.

Again, we have been called Texas Aggies long before you or I were on this planet. We're not "calling ourselves" anything. We don't call our first team "The Herd", the 2nd team "The Stampede", or anything like that.

We're just making a decision as to whether or not we should put our university name (Texas A&M) or what we have been called forever (Texas Aggies). It's really quite simple for most to understand.
