Sorry for disappointing. I was tipped off about the April 16 presser the week before when I stated that Slive was going to drape his cock over Bowlsby's forehead. Didn't get tipped when the presser got rescheduled for after the bombing.

I will say that I am hearing the tier 1 and 2 dollars are between $26 and $28 Million per school. Have not heard dollars speculated about SEC Network, which lends itself to the SEC owning more than half and eating the upfront costs and having lesser payouts in years 1 and 2. Similar to the B1G Network, but hurting more as the SEC doesn't want to give up 49% to ESPN. I think they want a more 60-40, 67-33 type split.

Let's say its $26 mil for Tier 1 and 2. Let's speculate a bit on the SEC network and use the numbers others were talking about a couple of weeks ago.

Also let's do this in LHN fashion - also that we are talking over 20 years (not the first two years when set up costs will be enormous) What are we talking about in revenue for all 14 members? $6 mil per team? $8 mil $10 mil?

I am optimistic that upfront capital $$$ will not be as large as first thought since it looks like they are leveraging the ESPNU studios in Charlotte. Still lots of upfront marketing, sales and distribution related costs.

The greater equity position makes sense considering their move to cut the middle men out of the Champions Bowl.

I've made this point before, in what way does ESPN or some other broadcast partner bring 49% to the table when the SEC is bringing all of the live programming? Live programming is a majority of what cable TV has going for it in the Netflix era; it is the cash cow by a longshot. The cost of running a studio and producing a few shows in no way comes close to the operational cost of running Kyle Field on gameday... so why would the SEC split money equally when ESPN has nowhere near what the universities have invested?

SEC Network.....$10-$15 Million per school when it matures in 2018. The baseball content is what will drive the money higher than B1G and Pac12. Football is a known quantity in terms of solid demand, no one has offered the depth of live content SEC baseball can provide. Not saying it will drive millions to watch, but enough to sell advertising year round versus what the B1G offers going virtually dormant in late Spring/early Summer.

My information is that CBS will take one game per week plus a couple of rivalry games and the SEC Championship, and then every other game will go to the SEC Network on right of first refusal.

With approximately 6 top ten teams currently in the SEC (Texas A&M, Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Florida and South Carolina) those rights are worth a fortune, if that is how the structure eventually plays out.

Depending on the ESPN split and startup costs, eventually I think that the current ~$26M will drop a little on the CBS side, but on the SEC side will inflate to $25-$30M or more. $45 to $50M per school per season.

The average amount distributed from the conference office, excluding bowl money retained by participants, was slightly over $45.5 million per school.

Imagine what that will be when the crappy CBS deal is done and ESPN takes over that prime game each week.
