Not a big fan of "E. King Gill" and "Bear Bryant" on the side of the stadium.

Roof makes no sense. Also 2 parking garages next to the stadium is a terrible idea. What's with the pond? Otherwise looks about as good as it could since they stupidly refuse to rebuild.

I think the roof serves 3 purposes:
- For shade, obviously
- Reflects sound coming from 12th Man
- Visually hides any slight tacklebox differences on the West side.

E King Gill and Bear Bryant are probably placeholders for sponsorship naming rights.

I doubt that makes it through to the final design.

The retention pond is probably artistic license, and kinda cool. A waste of good space, but still kinda cool. Some are saying online it is for drainage since we're lowering the field but that makes no sense to me. I don't see how the two are connected.

I hope they develop a better plaza plan for the MSC corner as the one they currently have on the renderings is pretty horrific. I'm sure something better will come along.

I have seen two South end designs. One with grandstands and the other with suites. Which one will prevail and what is the seating capacity. I can't see spending this much and not greatly increasing the seating.

Naming rights makes sense, but I hope it isn't as big as that. The zone has Richardson's name on it, but it's not nearly that obvious.

The shade provided by that roof would be minimally helpful. It will only reflect alumni sound. Lets face it, the alumni don't yell. So, it is essentially a waste of money.

Multiple Ags I talked to all said the same things I did immediately.

The parking garages are here to stay I'll bet. For the kind of money the Westsiders are going to be asked to cough up you can bet they'll expect to be able to park next to the stadium. I would.

Big Money Ags, those who will help tremendously in paying for all of this, will want to park close.

That lot is dead anyway. Garages there have been on every master plan for the past decade at least, so its nothing new. No big loss.

I just don't understand why you would spend 10s of millions on the west side facade if you are going to block it up with a garage.

This is still a overall concept design I'm sure. Stuff will change.

Those garages are only 2 or 3 stories. Kyle will still absolutely tower over them.

Unless sound travels backward, it would be to deflect the sound BACK toward the student side. The east side will also, finally, get to HEAR the FTAB!

Other than Candyland Plaza, the renderings look fantastic! The facade looks great, and the Champions Hall will be impressive.

I highly doubt it would do anything to reflect sound down to the alumni. The space is too wide open.

It's my opinion that the roof will not come close to justifying the cost.

The purpose would be to reflect sound back toward the field, not toward the old folks. Thus, louder crowd noise for the opposing team. You can change the angle of the overhang to send the sound directly to the field and the visiting team's bench.

The sound reflection was for the east side and the opposing team to be the recipients of the noise. The only benefit the west side will experience would be a few more rows of shade.

Notice the old press box is gone? Thats what shaded most of the west side starting at 2:30 or so. The overhang is probably there because the new press box area looks to be much shorter.

The new press box will go from end to end over the West stands. You can clearly see it under the overhang in the pics.
