Bottom line is that regionally, nationally and internationally The Texas Longhorns are a more highly regarded football program than A&M is

Spot on my friend. That's what it looks like to me also.
For PR purposes, I expect Texas wil play it out like they still didn't want to expand, but went along with everyone else to help get rid of the "Texas is a bully" storyline that's been floating around in the media for a while.
But I think Deloss has finally realized what I was saying the other day about how the SEC has gamed the system through scheduling- that adding more teams in two divisions actually INCREASES Texas' chances of being in the top 4 nationally, as they wouldn't play every B12 team every year that way.
That was the part that really jumped out at me. I think Deloss and Mack may have seen the light.
We know it's in the best interest of everyone not named UT and OU to add six solid programs from the ACC (I'm counting UL as one of them), as it would ensure a future for the conference even if UT decided to go indy, PAC, BIG whatever in 2025.
Sounds like UTR is now on board with the idea, albeit for a different reason.
That is damn good news any way you slice it though.
B12 going to 16 would almost guarantee a 4x16 setup, which IMO is ideal for future playoffs.
