Apparently black, middle class families shouldn't be able to afford a moderately new SUV.

Nothing to see here folks, most college athletes drive 45k cars and have their mom mysterious moved into a nice home in their college town. Move along now.....

I'm sure the bammers will squirm a little and then trot out Danny Sheridan on Finebaum later this week to tell us about the second bagman on the grassy knoll that was the actual trigger man on the Cam Newton "deal".

Not only that, but it's apparently illegal. Who knew?

Bama fans are in denial.

Google Tom Al-Betar, Trent Richardson, and T-Town Sports.

NCAA bylaw 12.5.2.1 states: "an individual shall not be eligible for participation in intercollegiate athletics if the individual permits the use of his or her name or picture to promote directly the sale or use of a commercial product or service of any kind."

As has been documented with photographic evidence on the link that I provided to you, above, Tom Al-Betar and T-Town Menswear displayed countless personalized Alabama football memorabilia items featuring Richardson, Jones and Mark Ingram inside T-Town Menswear over the years.

Hell, there are photos of the players SIGNING THE STUFF IN THE STORE, and then the STUFF FOR SALE IN THE STORE!

And what about Tennessee, Auburn, and the rest of what is going on over there in SEC land?

The number of times a school has been busted by the NCAA is inversely proportional to their ability to get away with it.

Ansel these players have taken out student loans to buy their cars. It's been reported in many cases, including alabama players and other schools, like Arkansas with McFadden and his ride. It's legal.

Ansel if you don't like what you're hearing on the SEC radio.......change the ****ing channel.

I just can't get over the irony in A&M and Auburn fans lecturing anyone on cheating. Oh damn this is great.

Ansel, what freaking evidence is there? A black college athlete owning a nice vehicle isn't evidence of anything that is against the NCAA bylaws. Any athlete in college can buy whatever kind of vehicle they can get on their own or with the help of their family.

And as far as the Men's Warehouse ordeal goes, the NCAA has already investigated it and stated that Bama is not in trouble.

Clay Travis and SBB are nothing more than rumor mongerers. You need to figure out that not everything posted on a blog is 100% accurate.

Didn't A&M give Eric Dickerson a tbird?

The tricked out ride isn't exclusive to one school. A lot of these kids get loans and they are based on future earnings.

What relation does that have to Tom Al-Betar and T-Town Menswear? What does that have to do with Willie Mack Garza paying for Lache Seastrunk and his mom to fly to Tennessee? What does that have to do with Cam Newton? Did you even read my first post on this thread?

I've never seen ANYTHING like ANY of this in College Station.

And what are you guys doing here, anyway? My post was directed at A&M fans, asking them if we're prepared to sink to this level of corruption.

If your team plays big time college football, there is some kind of cheating going on somewhere at some level, with that team. Period. Every school. See this flowchart:

Some cheat more than others, but EVERYBODY cheats a little. The "SEC cheats" gets blown WAY out of proportion, the fact is, we are just that much better than everyone else.

Oh and the "if you ain't cheatin', you ain't tryin'" line is from NASCAR's Junior Johnson talking about the racing. Barkley just borrowed it as a bit of hyperbole.

The fact that he is black has nothing to do with it. Why are the Alabama fans making such a big deal about his race?

If this bama thing was such a big deal, why is spb (who I enjoy reading) the only person reporting on it?

Everybody cheats. These whiners who constantly try to put forth the message that the sec is somehow worse than everybody else are either self-loathing Aggies or big12 trolls.

Everyone cheats. But they take it to another level in the SEC. This vehicle is nothing in the SEC. Nothing.

It is illegal for a student athlete to get a loan an average student could not get. The loans cannot take into consideration the large amount of money the player may make in the NFL - period. If any type of favoritism is shown, then it is illegal.

Pot meet kettle. At least they waited until he was on campus and didn't pay for a car that ended up at Auburn. The funny thing about the list is Baylor at five and counting I might add.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
Ah, the old "everybody is doing it" excuse. That may be true in the SEC (though I doubt it is true at Vanderbilt), but it isn't true everywhere.

Regarding the Yukon, if he took out a loan to buy the car, how is he making payments on it?

And I notice that nobody is addressing Cam Newton, Willie Mack Garza etc..

I'm telling you, fellow ags, that we may be force to choose between cheating and irrelevancy. I don't like having to make that choice.

Ansel, you need to read up on the history of A&M. We, along with everyone else in the SWC, cheated heavily for half a century.

Also, it is pretty easy to get loans while in college, even when on full scholarship. That goes for any student, not just athletes. I know grad students at Rice who receive a free ride and a $30,000/yr stipend. They still have no problem getting student loans for $15,000 per year, which is more than enough to make payments on a brand new Yukon.

And we got slapped for it, paying a steep price. And we don't do it now.

My nephew sold weed while in college, got popped for it, went to jail, and is now a well-to-do project manager and pillar of his community.

There are camera time-stamped photos clearly showing former Alabama football players Julio Jones, Mark Ingram and current Alabama football player Trent Richardson engaged in activities rendering them ineligible per NCAA bylaw 12.5.2.1, while additional Al-Betar Facebook photos and video show current Alabama linebacker Nico Johnson engaged in similar NCAA rule-breaking.

To the Bama poster who said that the NCAA investigated this, they have not. Alabama investigated it and told the BIRMINGHAM NEWS and ESPN that it found “no (NCAA-rules related) wrongdoing" ---- despite the clear photographic evidence that shows what was going on.

Can we at least play one game in the SEC before we start making nuisances of ourselves?

As far as the quote above, we've been irrelevant in the B12 for at least the last 13 years. So what if that continues into the SEC?

LOL. What?

It's going to be interesting in a few years if we don't do well to see what y'all think. I'm betting there will be more than a few who are wondering why we just can't seem to compete with Auburn, LSU etc.. when it comes to signing top-level recruits.

i guess we should've gone after BJ Holmes who came to campus back in spring 2010 with a brand new 2010 Lexus Is 250 convertible, right?

I guess black student athletes can't have nice things and should be riding caprices on 26's
