Someone explain to me why Von got a targeting penalty in the first half for crushing the Tech receiver across the middle. He led with his shoulder and hit the Tech guy in the chest. Stupid call by the refs, and the worst part was three separate refs threw flags on that play....

gunan01 ... I didn't see the game so I can only speculate ... I know that it was called as targeting (atleast I am pretty sure that is what Dave & Dave said) but it may have been a "defenseless player" call.

Alot of people tend to confuse the two I think ... one is targeting at the head and the other is hitting a player who is basically not prepared for it - mostly called on receivers coming across who are looking for the ball and not seeing the defense.
