i can certainly understand why the mavs always seem to have so much trouble come playoff time. they cant ever get a good seed.

Rockets future is looking pretty good. Brooks improved greatly over the year, got K Martin midseason, Ariza could end up being a star, get Yao back next year, and will likely add a free agent thru sign and trade. This team showed a lot of heart this season.

Mavs are in a great position to sign a max contract FA through S&T. And we've got some good ones to choose from. I'd be happy with any of them except Joe Johnson.

Mavs will sign a big name, win 50+ games, and then get embarrassed by an 8 seed in round 1, all the while claiming that TeamX was the only team that could have beat them in a 7 game series that year.

In just one season of competition (2010) the rockets won just as many playoff series as the
mavwrecks did added to just as many playoff series as the rangers have won ALL TIME.

That's quite a feat when you think about it.

Agree. We also need someone who can take over a game if required. Dirk can do that sometimes (3rd quarter last night) but he's a jump shooter and if his shot isn't falling, he can't be that guy. Need someone who can drive hard and get to the line.

As much as it hurts to say it, DWade would be the perfect addition. Plays great perimeter D (Spurs exposed our perimeter D badly) and does all the things above. It would be heresy to put him in a Mavs uni after he butt-fcked us in the Finals, but unfortunately he's the best fit of all the FAs.

Good thing we don't have much of a shot at getting him.

Mavs can afford to pay him what Jersey can pay, and i guarantee you he would much rather come to Dallas.
