the guy was mentally ill and untreated. certain kinds of mental illness will make a person very self absorbed. you literally can't communicate with them. they get tunnel vision. This guy was probably bi-polar in the Charles Haley mold, but it was never diagnosed. He maybe needed medicine.

You know what everyone who’s committed suicide is thinking? Wow, you wanna tell me what the lottery numbers for next week will be?


I understand the anger and unsympathetic view that many of you seem to have toward someone who commits suicide, but I wonder how many people actually know what it’s like to be in that moment. Regardless of how many people you’ve know who’ve committed suicide (as I do) you have NO IDEA what it’s like to feel like you’d rather kill yourself and continue on.

It’s easy to sit back and judge someone’s actions after the fact (I’m just as guilty) but I can tell you that unless you’ve been in their shoes you haven’t the faintest clue what that feeling is like. And honestly, I hope you never do.

As for all of you attacking it because it’s “the most selfish act” someone can do. Get over yourself. People are selfish, and they act selfishly ALL THE TIME in ways that hurt and devastate the people in their lives.
