can someone really claim producer credits on something like this?

Haha, I'm not sure if they actually can or not. I think seeing as, from what I can tell, it was a small time deal the person who compiled it claimed to be the "producer." Also from what I've read Bottlecap Records does not exist any more. You can find volumes I-III on amazon and volume IV and the entire box set like mine as "currently unavailable." So I don't think you can find them with ease anymore.

Found the box set on Ebay last month for $6.49 shipped.

I still have the 1st demo CD Chris made. So I got that going for me.

Wow....interesting. Little history....timing is everything. I had just graduated in 95 and lived in Falfirrias. ....I could just get KKYX on a clear day.....

So, I called my cousin Chris, who was still at A&M and asked him to "burn" me a CD with all the songs they played at the chicken. I still only had a tape player in the truck so I had to put the "wired" cassette into my tape player and connect it to an external CD player.

Well the idea took off from there and it was really fun thinking of all the songs we had heard while playing dominoes..... Chris followed all the protocols and did things the proper way...all on the up and up....notice no George Strait because he required too much up front cash...he had to also handle Don at the chicken.....well, it looked promising but music piracy was starting to take off. This was all pre iTunes etc.....at least for us

It was fun while it lasted. But due to contracts, you had to close out your company or continue sales with certain quotas or something like that and the music pirating dictated that this couldn't last.
