1998 when you lost to tOSU in the Sugar Bowl and had the infamous "punt of surrender" by RC when you still had a chance to make it a game? Was that the year?

Texas has won 6 conference titles since 1985. I agree we should have done better. The 80's and 90's (or as you like to call them, The Golden FedEx era) weren't kind to Texas. However more recently we've also won 3 BCS bowls and a national title. Not quite up to aggie standards I know. But we're trying our best.

I know you guys got that epic GalleryFurniture.com bowl win. The trophy shaped like a sofa is featured prominently in your school's otherwise empty trophy room. I guess that is to be expected when your school is 1-8 in its last 9 bowl games with many of those losses being blowouts. Ouch.

Or 1992 when we butt****ed the poor whorns in their stadium to finish the season undefeated and untied. Or 1998 where we only had 1 loss heading into the tu game.

So did you guys get a shiny crystal trophy for that? Is it as nice as ours? You hang on to those memories as much as you can because I have a feeling its the closest you will ever get to seeing your team with a NC in football.

Wow. You're a clueless dip****.

My post was moreso to address the idiots that claim Mack is underachieving - clearly he is not.

Clearly, he IS. I can't believe you're actually trying to use "average recruiting class rankings" to try and argue that Texas BARELY has Top 10 talent. Texas has Top 3/4 talent, easy. Texas has more talent than anyone in the conference, and everyone knows that. Yet, you've won the conference just 2 times during Mack's tenure. I don't know how this is such a big surprise. You're thought of as a team that wins a lot but doesn't do as much as they should (conference titles, etc.).

But that '02 class was Slocum's, not Franny's. And before you appoint Sherman to be the Savior of your program, he didn't exactly have a bare cupboard to fashion that 10-15 record (12/15 losses by double-digits).

This thread reeks of "but, but, we're texas".

This thread was about a compliment about A&M recruiting (which in the past has been pretty bad), and it became a tsip circlejerk.

Sherman had no OL at all when he got here. He's addressed the need by recruiting several stud OL, including one of the top ranked OL classes for 2010. No one has appointed him anything, dip****.

I saw my team win a NC in football just a few weeks ago. Roll Tide! I'm a life long Tide fan. Well, I at least have as much cred being a Tide fans as you do a whorn fan, t-shirt.

Look for any listing of college football's dirtiest programs and you will certainly find A&M on the list.

I could provide you with my alumni email address as proof. However it probably wouldn't matter. You like to believe you are debating t-shirt fans because you have no ammo against a real alum. When it comes to football, basketball, baseball, academics and most other things, Texas is A&M's daddy.

And BI you didn’t answer my question, if he is neither a great judge of talent nor a great strategy coach how do you explain his success at Texas?

Bullchit - since 2002, when Rivals has kept track of their rankings, Texas has finished ranked in the top 3/4 twice based upon average star rankings(2002 and 2009) and only once if you use class rankings (2002). OU had also finished ranked in the top 3/4 twice based upon star rankings and twice based upon overall class rankings.

Both Texas and OU have topped the conference rankings four times each and have virtually identical class star rankings over the same time period: 3.68 vs. 3.61

McDumbass has won on a combination of luck and paying refs, both evident when he was outcoached
in the Nebraska game by Pelini and the refs had to dig deep to pull his nuts out of the fire. He's
such an average coach that his teams were unprepared to defend the OPTION:

Also: if those star ratings mean anything then how come Dennis Franchione was able to sweep t.u. in
his last two games? The only thing that broke that cycle was firing the coach and putting new
systems on both sides of the ball.

So Texas is the only team in the country that has lost to a team with a lower star ranking in a rivalry game?

Guess nobody told Pete Carroll who finished in the top five 6 out the last 8 years including having the top ranked class (per star average) in 2009,2007,2006, 2005, and 2004!

His powerhouse teams lost to Cal in 2003, OSU and UCLA in 2006, Stanford and Oregon in 2007 and OSU again in 2008 and pitiful WU this last year!

Just as a broken clock is right twice a day, your football team has sandwiched 8 double-digit losses around 2 squeekers vs. UT. Of course 2/10 is still better than your 2/11 Bowl Record over your last 13 "efforts".

So, in your last 10 games vs. Texas, 11 games vs. OU, 15 games vs. TxTech, and 11 Bowl games . . . that is a total of 47 games . . . the Fighting Texas A&M Aggies have a total of 9 wins??? 9/47?? Oh, please keep the football smack coming.

And since that time, OU has won the Big 12 5 times. Texas has won it 2 times. That's really all that needs to be said. But I'm sure you'll find a way to throw out arbitary year-end rankings, etc. to somehow "make up" for that disparity. As usual, you're a clueless dork.

So your argument is that he is 128–27 (80–16) at Texas with 1 National Championships in 2 tries, 2 conference championships, 8-4 in bowls(3-1 BCS) even though he can’t evaluate talent or coach the talent he has, because he is lucky and paying off refs? That’s reaching even for you.

As much as I think that the Sherminator has you guys heading in the right direction, you have still had 2 losing seasons in a row.

How long can ya'll keep saying Fran this and Fran that. Sounds like the same rhetoric that Obama says about Bush.

Well OF COURSE when you change from a veer blocking offensive line to zone blocking and
switch defensive schemes from a nickel to a 4-3 you're going to have personnel problems. Duh.

That was a nice run by Goodson.

1) Add another 7 yards to it and it would match his 2009 numbers with Carolina.
2) Add another 23 yards to it and it might look something like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=htpJjUAdkbo.

Oh, yeah, he's average - Mack also doesn't develop his talent either, as evidenced by his sending to the NFL (along with the usual higher ranked players)!

Ahmad Hall
3* Colt McCoy (yes, he'll be drafted)
3* Chris Ogbonnaya
3* Adam Ulatoski
3* Brian Roinson
3* Robert Muckelroy (also a sure fire draft pick)
3* Brandon Foster

Then you have the 3*'s from Scout:

Lyle Sendlien
Kasey Studdard
Michael Griffin
Cederick Dockery
Brian Orakpo
Derek Lokey

Sooo...dropping two games to A&M in the last 10 years and struggling against NU in the Big 12 title game means that all the rest of that accomplishment is due to luck and cheating and not at all to talent evaluation and coaching? OK.

So you are expecting to see your defense improve in a new scheme and another year further on how to stop the ATM hurry up O.

5 Yard out to a WR, then run to the line I formation quick snap stretch play to the right?

I know you guys think Sherm is the next Lombardi, but you're nieve to think that the other teams won't be more prepared next year.
