You've never been to a game in Lubbuck then. tu fans are annoying, Tceh fans are just mean spirited and completely classless. There's no place in college athletics for fans who chant "**** aggie" every other posession and taunt opposing fans to the point where security has to escort them to different seats.

I've been to games in Baton Rouge, Norman, Stillwater, Boulder and Manhattan, and I've never seen anything close to the pure disregard for sportsmanship I witnessed in Lubbuck. LSU fans are bad, but they don't cheer for opponent injuries. Tceh fans are the Philly Eagle fans of college football.

Losing to tech is a thorn in the side for two main reasons:

1. They are rarely in ballpark of contention for anything, if they had some national credibility (even from 10-15 years ago) it wouldn't be as frustrating. For instance, I was pretty frustrated after the '04 baylor loss...but not as frustrated after '07 KU loss, since KU was consistently winning throughout the season. And this is magnified with tech because of #2.

2. They absolutely hate A&M, and their games against are (most of the time, Holiday and Gator bowl the obvious exceptions) one of their peak performances of the season. As shown by their ability to lose to little OOC bb programs, or losing in football to okie state & that awful '06 Colorado team, etc.

And as for the tu/tech comparison, it's simple. A&M and texas don't like each other, but either side can admit the other person went to a good school. Not the case with tech, they always seem to have an ax to grind. I've come across very few tech fans that haven't in some way felt the need to let me now, subtly or un-subtly, that they can't stand A&M. With most 'horn fans, I don't get that. It's more of a light-hearted remark. If I see someone in burnt orange, I don't feel the need to tell them that I don't like their school.

how do you go year after year after year without ANY conf title in ANY sport? THAT is almost impossible, but not for tceh.

beating texas has been nice because even with our horrible coaching over the last few years, it has at least given us a little bit of a bright spot. but i would always rather beat texas than tech because it pretty much always looks better on a national scale.

i would be ok with losing to both if it meant that we could get past the sweet 16 or go to a bcs bowl.

It would seem that repeated losses to Tech is one of the factors KEEPING the ag's from being significant on a national scale.

How can you expect to compete at the highest level when you keep getting brought back down to earth by such an "inferior" school!

I agree. There isn't anything wrong with losing some of the time...like K-State having the 'horns number right now. But when there's a serious lack of being competitive...there's a problem. That's why RC and Fran were fired. Basketball is different, because we lost to tech twice last season but went further than anyone in the tournament except KU.

Oh please...that's no excuse. If anything, texas has more of a reputation for that than A&M...just ask OU or A&M fans. But the behavior of A&M and OU fans towards texas is mild compared to the hostility of tech fans toward A&M.

It kills Aggies that Tech has a healthy respect for UT but not them. They think if they try the condecention angle it might change the above fact.

Says it all. Arrogance is apparently taught as a positive trait at the atm fish camp. Therefore, if you didn't go to the atm, be prepared to be "talked down to".

I've been at several different Big 12 stadiums when the ags were playing and that is one constant theme of discussion: "Aggies think they are better than everyone else".

Tech doesn't hate aggie...Tech owns aggie. Most Tech fans look at aggie game day as nothing more than a picnic followed by a party with a scrimmage in between.

to answer the posted question, even as a raider, everybody is bothered by a loss MUCH more than they are excited by a win... or at least they should be, if they are competitive. A win to me only feels good for about a day, at best. a loss follows me for weeks. So the answer, i think, runs deeper than just beating one rival or losing to the other.

If i were an aggie poster I’d be telling you to shut it more than any poster from any other school is, since you continue to make your student body look like its stereotype. I am in grad school with a bunch or horns and aggs, all good people, and they've realized that there is no difference, intelligence wise, b/t any student from the three schools.
