I work a small market where a developer has starting doing turf yards, front and back, in all new developments. Has anyone seen the long term effects for this in rental communities? Good idea, bad idea, or wash?

I think they're great if properly maintained. Problem in a rental community is.. will they be maintained? Or will leaves and dirt pile up and decay on them?

Sounds like a way to burn through a bunch of money. I envision dogs tearing it up/ crapping all over it, hot coals from bbq/ fire pits, contractors washing their painting supplies, etc, etc.
