We currently keep the land under a wildlife ag exemption. There are several things that must be done each year to manage the property to benefit wildlife. The county has a list of about a dozen operations and a land owner must do 3 or 4 each year. It's very easy to manage for wildlife and does not interfere with anything else on the land. Raising or leasing for Livestock is also another ag exemption, but we prefer wildlife. The owner can easily switch between the different ag uses. If you were to build a home on the land, the county typically takes one acre out of ag and taxes it with the home. The yearly taxes on this property are less than $50. If you have any additional questions about the ag exemption or the property in general, let me know.
