"No animals including dogs and cats shall be allowed to roam free in the subdivision."

Dogs I can understand, but cats?

Do the people who write these things not understand cats, or are they just grumpy sourpusses?

Cat people who let their disease ridden, bird killing pets roam the neighborhood because "the need space" or whatever lame excuse they can come up with.

You can't have it both ways. You don't want my dog roaming and ****ting wherever she pleases and I don't want your cat using my beds as it's damn litter box. Good way to end up without a pet either way.

As someone with a dog and a cat, restriction sounds reasonable to me

Found a pile of bluejay feathers in my back yard today. No doubt because fluffy needed to stretch her legs.

I believe these are a legal gray area for suburban use.

Outdoor cats that roam are great if you live out in the country. They keep the rodents and snakes cleaned up.

They're not a fit for a subdivision because they encroach on other people's property and do stuff they don't like.

Same thing for roaming dogs.

Want your pets to roam? Move out into the country.

But then again, if they kill the neighbor's chickens, you've still got a problem.

Let me preface this by saying I hate cats. That said, they are different from dogs. You can fence a dog in. You can't fence a cat in. So it would have to stay in the house all the time, or be on a leash. That don't work.

Them the rules, otherwise you are cool with cat prints all over your car and turds in your flowerbed. Have fun pulling weeds out next time.

I like cats and dogs but in the country where they can live like God intended

Neighborhood cats don't bother me.

The idiots that feed the feral cats that **** all over my roof and backyard bother me.

My old neighborhood (cottage grove) had an old lady who would drive in every couple days, park right in front of someone's driveway, and just drop bags of food. Man I hated her

yep....we used to have two of those folks. Now we're down to one...and thankfully a little further from my house.

Cats roaming the neighborhood freely is BS. Even worse is the feeeding of feral cats. And they all suck at catching rats. I had rats in my shed and set up a couple good cameras to try to learn their patterns so I could shoot them with my air rifle. I saw all kinds of cats hanging out near the rat runs, but none were skilled enough hunters to catch a single rat. Had one possum show up on camera and it appeared to successfully kill a rat.

What's wrong with the cat staying in the house?
