Unfortunately, my dad passed recently. He had moved to an assisted living facility and was attempting to FSBO his home in the Austin area. I now have a somewhat competitive verbal offer from one of his prospects. The house is several decades old and may have repairs noted in the home inspection. What is a good source of information on contracting, inspection, title transfer, etc. to close this sale without a real estate agent?

A lawyer. You can do this blind or pay for help. Your choice.

Repairs- do your own inspection. About 450-500. Then you can use their expertise to counter the buyers report. Negotiations from there.

Title- does all the transaction paperwork. I can refer if you want. Title guy that's done all my refinance deals for 20+ years. Title guy is also a lawyer.

Price? I'd get a realtor to do MLS comps to know fair value. Red Pear Felipe can do that on a fixed price.

If you have an agreed price, just fill out the TREC form found online and give it to a title company. They'll handle the rest. The buyer will do an inspection if they want.

Unless you have done a few real estate transactions before, I would for sure recommend representation from a real estate professional on this transaction.
