I refer to Lierre but Rollo is a site sponsor and I've heard good feedback on them as well

Check with an independent agent. We have several companies to get quotes from. Travelers, Progressive, Safeco, etc…

We use Rollo. Morgan Moudy shops around for us every year when it is time to renew. He just saved $200 from what we paid last year (new carrier) but $2500 less than what our renewal was going to be.

Do insurers ever decline based on trees if close to house?

What carriers did yall end up with? I've tried the agency route with Liere and Goosehead...wouldn't use either again and am turned off to the agency route. I can shop rates myself but would like to narrow my search. Carriers?

If I never had to deal with another agency again it would be ideal, but I feel like it is the best option given how many different policies we have. I need to make a spreadsheet with all of my different policies, who they are through and when they are set to renew. The cost for each home is so wildly different through different agencies that I end up using several different ones.

My homeowners coverage renewal almost doubled via Goosehead. Goosehead did nothing to shop it...they were just going to let it renew with the same company and collect their fee/commision. I shopped it myself online and had another policy in about 30 minutes that saves me about $2,000 for the year.

I'm also happy to pay for convenience but F that.

My problem with Liere (who had much better customer service than Goosehead) is that even though they "shopped" my coverages...I always ended up with the same company (couldn't help but think there was some incentive to them). Again, I was able to find cheaper coverage myself fairly easily.

Sea Speed, just curious but why are you so against brokers? Typically, you have the added advantage of having someone (or a team of people) to help service, answers questions, coverage advice, etc. in addition to going direct to the actual insurance company. Whereas getting a policy online you only have the option of contacting the insurance company directly for these needs. Auto is pretty straight forward but there are so many nuances in home insurance I would think it would be highly beneficial having the added services of a broker, unless that is your broker sucks at their job.
