Just considering this right now for a closing at end of month.

approx $80K payoff to be sent to my account.

but I don't think I want to keep that much in a BOA main account but divide it up and spread out diversified portfolio.

but if I wait until after the PNC sends the money by wire to my current bank, then try to send it to another bank- would there be like a 2% fee?

so then it really makes sense to have the initial transfer done correctly so there are no fees.

or would a bank to bank transfer in the USA not cost much money?

A wire between domestic banks is usually $10-$25 depending on your bank.

Pretty much. Hey Lane why don't you call the banks and ask them?

What's wrong with $80k in a BOA account? Do you want to diversify institutions in which you make deposits, or diversify the cash into different investments? If it's the institution you're worried about, you're well under the $250k FDIC limit, and BoA is a G-SIB. You could also open a Merrill account through which you can invest.

Those answers are too obvious, especially if you're the kind of guy that makes $80k on "deals", so maybe is this just you wanting to talk about your windfall?

Once we figure out Barnes' measly $80k problem can we discuss my $200k windfall? Closing coming soon and need to figure out how to handle so much cash.

Anyone here with too much cash on hand should pm me about investing in my cash flow positive bridge holdings. Very lucrative.

Also have some beach front properties. Very popular with the current daylight saving frenzy.
