I need to get a survey for a City of Houston easement abandonment request.

Anyone here do this type of work or have someone they'd recommend?

I did this several months ago. Looking at my application, it just says "recent property survey, if available." I don't think it's absolutely necessary.

I don't think that's the case for ours as they specifically need a separate set of drawing and field notes per parcel and there are 4 parcels as we'll be splitting the easement with the neighbor on the other side and there are two sewage right of ways.

Ok, I'm not familiar with what you're trying to do. Mine was the city's easement, they weren't using it anymore, and per the easement it would revert back to me as the current owner.

It's an easement or right of way next to our house that was originally reserved for a street to connect to our street. Once abandoned we will split it with the neighbor on the other side and we'll have to pay the city.

I see. Yes, it sounds different because I didn't have to pay anything because of the reverter language in the original easement:

But if said easement or any part thereof is ever discontinued for public purposes, then the rights and easements hereby granted shall thereupon immediately cease and terminate, and all rights granted hereby shall revert to and revest in the grantor...

Even if your easement doesn't have that language, you may still want to go that route and see what they say.
