Forgive me if this is common knowledge, but is there an online resource to find land that is for sale? Something similar to HAR.com. I am interested in buying something less than 20 acres, but not sure where to start. I'd like to be able to browse online listings and then decide on which ones to go visit. The areas interested in would be between Houston and Austin...maybe somewhere close to College Station. I'm just beginning the search so any tips would be appreciated. TIA!

Find a Realtor with MLS access. Can also search Realtor.com (syncs with MLS). Some land listings aren't put on MLS though so they could potentially be listed on sites like the aforementioned one, LoopNet, etc.

Landsoftexas works but seems to be mostly high end properties. I did a Google search for "land for sale + XXX county TX" and got some good hits. Lots of hits thru realtor.com for land and you can narrow search by acreage, price and location.
Keep looking...you'll find something! My biggest problem was trying to find something and buying it before someone else did! Missed one by 15 minutes according to my realtor.

LoopNet.com is what a lot of us realtors use. Frustrating because some of the listings require you have subscription in order to view. But some listings are free to view.

53 acres in two locations close to lake limestone. 23 acres in one location, 30 in the other. Both have water and electricity present. Both have multiple ponds and mature oak trees.

Since I mentioned that Capital Farm Credit missed our patronage dispersal last year (for the first time) I feel obligated to mention that they made the coveted November dispersal. That makes Christmas so much more enjoyable. THANKS! I realize there are issues outside of their control, they do keep you well informed. If/when we purchase raw land (or anything else that qualifies) again I would certainly consider them first.

Not high fenced. Used to have cattle on it. Some trees and an orchard with mainly peach and pear trees that need some TLC.

No listing yet. Been waiting until we start building our home.

Thank you for your comment, HEBUCUS.
As a borrower-owned cooperative, Capital Farm Credit is controlled by the farmers, ranchers and rural landowners who borrow from us and, in turn, share in our financial success. We return almost 100 percent of our net earnings back to our membership. Our patronage dividend program is a unique benefit to our members that sets us apart from other lenders.
Capital Farm Credit has a long tradition of strong earnings, which accrues to the benefit of our members. As we return the earnings, we effectively lower the cost of doing business, which helps to strengthen the agricultural economy and rural communities we serve.
As background, our Board of Directors recently approved a $39.9 million cash retirement of allocated equities issued in 2009. Combined with the $72 million cash patronage paid in March of this year, Capital Farm Credit returned total cash distributions of more than $111.8 million to our members in 2015. Since 2007, we've returned more than half a billion dollars to members through our patronage dividend program.

Second capital farm credit on loan. Have done several times and still reaping the rewards.

Landsoftexas is generally what I look at first and then I look at the realtor for that land I found, as sometimes I have found items listed by them not on the lands of Texas site.

The easiest way is either Landoftexas or landwatch. The only issue I have is that they do not update very quickly if something has sold or pending.

I personally use Realtor.com the most because to me is the most up to date and accurate. You can change the settings to filter to the average size that you want. They also have a good app.
