Anyone ever done this? There is a piece of property in Fort Bend county and through FBCAD I have found the "owner and their address" at least what is listed on county records.

Seems that they've owned the property for over 10 years and done nothing to it. I'm just interested if anyone has any experience, writing an unsolicited letter to someone like this to see if they will sell.

Any tips or tricks?

I do this a lot and it works. Just send them a letter letting them know you are interested. Might never hear back but I had a lady call me last week from a letter I sent in 08.

The owner should not get offended. Most owners like to know there is interest in their property

If are not scared, go knock and talk to them face to face. Worst thing they can say is no

Our builder recommended doing it if we couldn't find a property on the market we were looking for.

I've done it 3 times and it worked twice. On another occasion we looked up the owner from the tax rolls, got their number and called them. We are still working on that one.
