Not sure how to feel---we normally have a roster of 10 women with 3 of them on crutches.

Only took her 4 years to realize you can have a full roster. Wild to say, but we have to applaud her for having 15 girls.

I'd break my brain trying to come up with a starting 5 and rotation with 12 new girls. It''ll come down to how we gel together and play together. Our top two transfers are from Saint Peters and Sacred Heart, and we added some international players. Well see how they adjust to SEC ball, we play a couple a strong teams before conference play.

Does anyone know why we only scheduled 9 non conference games (only 4 against power 4 schools). With a new roster, you'd think we'd need all the game experience we can get. At least we can have some more practices, but most teams in the conference have approximately 15 non conference games. Optics wise you'd think we'd do more to reach double digit wins, especially with a coach on the hot seat?

My guess would be trying to stay healthy and fresh? Injuries have just beat us down in previous seasons.

Maybe Trev gave her a smaller budget for scheduling, aka we aren't going to buy wins.

There was a note on the top of the 2025-26 schedule page on 12thman.com a couple of weeks ago to the effect of check back because we are still looking to add games. It looks like that note in gone now.

There are some key differences that suggest there is a commitment by the coaching staff to turn this around starting this year. I have no clue what that will mean, but I encourage our team to go the extra mile to accomplish improvement. I would not be down in the mouth about them right now. Let's see.

Agree - really hope we see a turnaround of some kind this year.

On another note, it looks like we do have an injury to report. Pien Steenbergen is on crutches. Not sure of the injury or the severity.

Are we going to crash out after game 1 if we lose to Corpus Christi again? Just gauging our stress level before next week.

The Corpus coach retired and their entire roster either left or graduated aside from a couple players and only 1 contributed in their upset win over us last year. Their new roster has many girls who are making the jump to Division 1 basketball so we should be heavily favored. But then again I'm sure we were last year before they beat us. I guess it's a revenge game for us lol. Vegas should have us favored in about 5 or 6 of our non conference games. We just have to wait and see if all the pieces thrown together can work.

In a preseason scrimmage, the ladies lost to Texas Tech 86-76. Tech went 4-14 in the Big 12 last year and only returned a handful of players. They were picked 13th in the Big 12 preseason poll. Jada Malone also left us for Tech.

Obviously you can't take much from a scrimmage, but it's an expected result. Surprised we could score that high of an amount, that's a positive sign. Tech's coach is on the hot seat as well coming into the season.

Definitely. That is a resume destroying loss and will set the tone for the season. This is her redemption season. NCAA tournament or bust

Brand new season.

Watching this football season unfold has been fascinating, and of course incredible! I've observed the old pattern of BAS, or whatever you want to call it, make "it's case" before every game. "Nothing can be trusted, expect collapse, etc." If you've noticed, Elko has called out the obsession/focus with the past in multiple interviews. He's been the voice of reason that the 12th man has needed, truly. It seems as if there is a subconscious satisfaction to make sure every fault & error is emphasized in internet forum culture- but it helps absolutely nothing. I know this is a bigger internet-wide issue lol. I feel like this new generation is not into moping and coping, the tides are turning. It's a new day, college sports as we know it is transforming drastically.

This is a new beginning for this team and the first year in Aggieland for most of our roster! What support & empowerment can we show them?? Can we cheer + champion their continual advancement? Growth, day by day. These ladies have devoted their lives to the game of basketball, this is the new home for their game. Also, I love their vibe! It's obvious this team enjoys being together.

I see greatness in each and every one of you!! 12th man supports you! No limits, gig 'em!

Keep this same energy all season. You started super positive last year and then fell silent.

There is nothing wrong with holding the coaching staff accountable for poor results. Admittedly, there seems to be a renewed investment into the program. Results TBD. The last 3 years have been horrendous, though, and for $4.5 million currently a very bad investment. Praying for a massive turn around. Forgive us for bantering a bit until proven wrong.

I thought they played TCU in a scrimmage but maybe they played two of them

Can't find absolutely nothing on the tcu scrimmage, but I know TCU beat UCLA by 16. Mizzou also lost to a D2 school, but had several starters out. A coach some of us wanted in Molly Miller had Arizona State beat USC in a scrimmage as well. Mikayla Blakes scored 40 in a scrimmage for Vandy. Janiah Barker had 15 and 10 and 6 steals in less than 20 minutes as she was one of Tennessee's 8 in double digits in their scrimmage vs Columbus State. Auburn under a first year coach only beat Southern Miss by 6. Again can't take much from scrimmages, but it's better than nothing

Lord - I just saw on X that Mulkey refused to go to a press conference last night because Woodward was fired as AD. Her fans are tearing her apart saying she's so unprofessional and that she will be fired and move on next year and then they said she'd probably go to A&M who used to be so good and is now a bottom feeder program. First of all - I hope we are not that this year (not saying we are - just repeating what was said on X). And secondly, I see no way in hell she comes here.

Agreed I think she has washed her hands with us re: coaching at A&M. No doubt she would win here--but at what price--we don't need to sell our soul.....

I think Mulkey was upset how it all went down and she's mostly upset with the politicians in Louisiana taking over. Clearly she also developed a relationship with Woodward.

Antics aside I'd be thrilled with her finishing off her career at A&M. I was too young for most of the Baylor A&M women's basketball rivalry so maybe that's why I have a different perspective. I wouldn't mind those antics and freak outs if it brought us wins. Joni has won 11 SEC games her 3 years here and in that timeframe Mulkey has won nearly quadruple. She can recruit and she can coach. I'd prefer a coach jumping up and down than one crossing her arms doing and saying nothing as we commit our 25th turnover

Bottom feeder is one of the nicer things people in the women's basketball world are saying about us. I think we will be somewhat improved, however the rest of the basketball world sees us differently. Articles and message boards are saying we just threw together a roster of mid major players with the hope they can compete in the SEC. South Carolina fans are already preparing to have Joni as a defensive coach for next season. Oklahoma fans are complaining that they have to play us twice because it'll hurt their RPI. Every article has Joni on the hot seat. I mean we are less than a week away till game day and look how empty and quiet this board is. Season tickets are down drastically. But we signed up for this.

To be fair, this is an accurate description. We have very limited size, players coming off major injuries, no major freshmen talent. In an era where you can transform a team in one off season(Kentucky), I would have expected some stronger transfers. We aren't exactly an attractive program as it stands.
