Unless you or Trev Alberts is satisfied with dead last in the conference and the direction of our program, it's time we look for the next head coach of Texas A&M Women's Basketball. Joni Taylor is 38-51, 11-37 in conference play with no tournament wins in 3 years. Above are just some names at the top of my head regardless of contract situations. Can't be hard to find someone who won't finish dead last in the SEC in year 3… will add to the list as March continues

Maybe there's someone in the pro ranks like Jamie Morrison was for volleyball…

I don't follow WBB. Friend at softball told me she only had 7 players available today due to injuries and started the year with only 11 players. Aren't we allowed 15 scholarships?

Yeah they're allowed 15. Most years at Georgia she carried 13 or 14. She lost 6 to the portal and 1 to graduation last year. And only had 1 high schooler signed and grabbed 2 portal additions who averaged 6 and 5 points.

If retained it's a given she'll lose some to the portal and loses her top two scorers at a minimum. They honored 6 at senior night of the 11 players. 4 can come back, but I doubt all 4 would.

She stated she prefers a small roster, so either she failed to add anyone because she couldn't get them to come here or she actively chose to set the roster at 11 in the Southeastern Conference.

Does anyone close to the team know if the 6 that were honored yesterday at senior night are all moving on? Seems to be the trend that if you're honored, you're moving on.

If we are serious about winning in women's basketball, go hire Vic from Texas like they took Schloss from A&M. At least force them to pay him 3 million to keep him. Otherwise, spend very little on a coach and save the rest for NIL deals

The only 2 'guaranteed' to be gone are AC & Sahara. The others have more eligibility

Speculation I've read online is saying Joni isn't going anywhere due to us making the NCAA Tournament last year. That actually makes sense even though a lot of fans won't like it. Year 1 was rough but not entirely her fault as she took over a depleted team and had to rely heavily on true freshman with Barker missing many games due to injury. Year 2 was an improvement with us making the tournament. Year 3…well we all know how that's gone. I get it that a coach just 1 year removed from making the tournament might not be fired. But if that's the case, I hope she hits the portal hard and brings in some quality and depth. I can see Ware and Malone playing their final season here unless they're ready to retire from basketball. I hope that's not the case. They are both foundational pieces and leaders. Not sure about any of the others staying. Would love to have Parker back.

So dead last in the conference is acceptable for Texas A&M

Surely softball will finish 16th in the SEC and volleyball will finish 16th in the conference this fall because that's the acceptable standard for Texas A&M

Taylor, a request. You are having a conversation with yourself and saying the same thing over and over again. Everyone here agrees that we had a brutal year and Joni's years here have not gone as desired. This is similar to what you were doing when you announced you were leaving the WBB board earlier this season. You decided to come back. Great. There aren't a lot of posters here, so please leave a little room for others to interact. This board can be a good place for conversation. Otherwise, you need to donate a few million dollars to the program to have legitimate influence on decisions.

Gap, a request, grow up and leave me alone and let me post whatever I want on a message forum. I care deeply about this program and I don't want to sit back and allow Joni Taylor to destroy everything Gary Blair created. We are dead last in the conference and one of the worst power 4 teams in the country with no positive direction. I want everyone to recognize that. Life will be better when you focus more on Aggie sports than go to different forums and try to belittle a user by the name of Taylorswift13 lol

Not everyone stalks my posts, some may see the 16 seed on our name Wednesday and wonder what's happening with women's basketball. Others may casually browse this forum, while others may make their way to this forum and want to know why did we finish last or why are we this awful of a program in year 3. Interest in women's basketball is very low so I know a lot of people don't follow this program, I want for them to know where we stand and what the future looks like.

Bottom line, I want us to win. I had questions pre season and you all told me to shut up and let her coach. I did. I want more for this program. Sorry I can't donate millions. But I'm sure the 50+ non power 4 schools ahead of us in the NET rankings aren't doing better than us in NIL.

I think my response to that would be why did all of her athletes leave her after squeaking into the tournament? I do agree this is the excuse they will use. She's not the answer though and I think it's pretty clear that we are dead in the water with her here.

What's very sad is that you've asked me this question multiple times and I told you how I'm currently caring for my mom in hospice care and unable to put aside funds for A&M athletics, and yet you continue to harass me about donating… tells me everything I need to know about you. Back and forth banter about Aggie Athletics is one thing and I appreciate your passion and support even as we have differing opinions, but this is hurtful and very un-Aggie like, I'm appalled. I'll alert staff and ask politely that you stay away from me on this website. Please.

Mark Kellogg would be a slam dunk hire. All he knows how to do is win. Has a sophomore daughter that is going to be a highly rated recruit in a couple years as well and is extremely tied in with top Texas girls in her class and the next couple classes.

Knew about his success but not about his daughter! Wish we could throw money at him before he settles in at West Virginia, let's bring him back to Texas! What he's done at West Virginia is impressive, I like their style
