Don't even know what to say, it was so far from being competitive that I'm not even upset… I'm just speechless

This program is embarrassing. Absolute destruction of what Gary Blair built in less than 3 years. To those athletes that left; smart move. Our coaches are frauds.

I had recorded our game and was about to watch when I caught a glimpse of the final score. Thank goodness. Didn't need that 2 hours of misery in my day. Makes me sick that this is where our program is. There's no excuse for this level of ineptness.

Sadly, we need a new coach like yesterday!

Feel bad for AC. If she was hoping another year would give her a chance to be drafted, her current form and current team are destroying any chance of that.

Soccer and WBB - two once proud programs and teams just ****ting bed with clueless coaching staffs.

With TCU ranked 9th, Texas 4th. And both Texas Tech and Baylor are sitting 9-2. We have regressed in two years. Things need to change.

SC beat TCU by 33

Judging by these scores on the 8th, the SEC conference gamut is going to get ugly for this team.

Our team is pathetic and they've got to cut her loose. We have digressed so much from the program that we once were it's ridiculous. She should resign immediately.

She seems like a good person that might consider that (but doubtful). If this is her profession, her current track record isn't promising for a turn around. She is currently 33-38 overall and 8-24 in conference at Texas A&M. Taking over for two legends, (Landers/Georgia and Blair/Texas A&M) the highest she's finished in conference is 3rd in 2017-2018 at Georgia. At Georgia she finished 6th, 8th, 3rd, 6th, 9th, 4th, 6th. At Texas A&M she has finished 13th and 9th. In 9 years as a head basketball coach, she has advanced to the NCAA tournament 5 times with two first round exits and 3 second round exits.

How in God's name do we look at this and think this was a solid hire to follow a coach like Gary Blair? Incredible.

Did we give our coach any NIL money to get players with? It's not like our arena is attracting players.

From my understanding, no. And we aren't going to be getting recruits that are offered the kind of NIL money most other places are offering. We cannot compete.

so you're saying schools like A&M CC and ball state are giving more NIL than we are?

also has Joni spent anytime asking or meeting with donors?

If support is a problem, then why spend the summer in Paris instead of staying here and doing the job?

I guess my question regarding this mentality is this. Are volleyball, softball, tennis, and golf unable to compete due to lack of NIL funds or are they building stronger programs despite not having the best facilities and most NIL funds? They all have strong coaches that refuse to buy into that mentality, so the results fall directly on the coaches of each sport. Tennis, for example, has one of the worst facilities in the SEC (and also one of the only schools without and indoor facility) and yet they are one of the top schools competing at indoor NCAAs and recently won a national championship. I say all this to highlight that great coaches can recruit despite of the perceived lack of funds.

i don't know anything about tennis, i guess it other than practice time due to weather, is there a big difference between indoor and outdoor tennis? I thought the reason to build indoor was for practice and to host post season tournies.

They are actually working on new court surface and locker rooms

completely different surfaces and playing styles between indoor and outdoor. it's like going from grass to clay (maybe not that dramatic but there are noticeable differences). In terms of recruiting, it is a huge bonus as elite athletes will be training every day, rain or shine. our players do not have those benefits, so weather can affect training. fortunately, we are close enough to Houston to where they can find courts if needed. but, tbh, it's embarrassing to have to host regionals and super regionals at baylor university bc we don't have indoor courts when the weather is bad.

but, again, back to coaching - even without these facilities both men's and women's programs are competing well. women are competing at a higher level, but denton just picked up 3-4 unbelievable guys in the transfer portal that will significantly help the team be competitive this year in the SEC. knock on wood - women's tennis is about to ink probably the best player we've ever signed as a freshman....elite and makes us the top contender for another national title (holding our breaths it goes thru).

well it'll be interesting to see what happens. Did Trev just kill the deal with CoB or is the facility going to be built on campus or is it DOA. my guess is if they have donors willing, they'll build it

it should be on campus; that's what i'm hoping for, but i also feel that the jimbo payments might be too high and they are cutting costs to the NR sports and this was one of the first to go. to me it never made sense to have it off campus and have the CoB control it but we were so desperate for it to happen that we thought well hell it's better than nothing!

G wants to burn the ship down or be allowed to stay until he's in a wheelchair. He feels he's owed that. Joni clearly does not want to be here; she looks miserable and isn't even trying to win games.

she may not, but she's not leaving 3 million on the table, now she might think she can get canned and get all the buyout, but I don't see Trev spending that kind of money on buyout plus new staff.

He can can G and owe him very little.

Either way both programs will be burnt to the ground and complete rebuilds. WBB may never recover since NIL is really creating further gaps in the haves and have nots

Problem is, the situation gets worse.

With this year's failaround she is now viewed by recruits as a lame duck coach. If she hangs on another year
It will take a heap of nil money to even get average players to look at us. Much less sign with us.

Players in the portal want to win first with a coach in a stable situation and get paid handsomely for doing it. We can't offer that because Joni doesnt have that, I'm gonna win and be here three more years vibe to her. Portal players see that.

Same way with G in soccer.

In other words we are throwing good money after bad by hanging on to what we got and hoping it gets better. The odds are it's only going to get worse.

I never expected a complete failure by administration to hire an effective and competitive coach that can recruit and win. GB built something special (had a horrible last season as it was his farewell tour). There is not one person that can convince me that the right coach wouldn't have made the difference, regardless of funding when you look at the other NR sports that are excelling without perceived funds, as well. The alarm bells should have been ringing when Georgia fans were happy to see her go. At first it appeared as sour apples, but after 2.5 years, we can see why if we are using wins and losses, roster management, recruiting, and desire as metrics for success. We are losing in all of those metrics. If we are using a metric of who's coach is best dressed, we are winning!

In the post game presser Joni said "we don't have that kind of offensive power to overcome deficits" well isn't that her job??? TO BRING IN OR COACH THAT OFFENSIVE FIREPOWER

Then she criticized the team for taking quick shots leading to transition buckets for K State, even though it's been known that's the offense she likes to play and said "those shots were open, but sometimes they are open for a reason" take that last line as you will

Yes - I can say that from what we've learned from her; they are running the offense that she's described. The turnovers are absolutely killing us, and the fact remains, we just do not have effective offensive scorers. I've been disappointed in AC's production this year. Towards the end of last year, it was obvious she was carrying the team on her back. This year she hasn't shown that she can do that yet. Lauren was much better offensively last year, as well.

In the first quarter of the last game, I cannot count on two hands how many layups and bunnies we missed. Shots that typically fall for Jada were just rim runners, same for Lauren.

Defensively, Sole gets beat so often/out of position so often. She turns the ball over and doesn't hustle back. To be fair, Jones does the same thing. The effort is there from Lauren and AC and Jada; we do not have a 1-3 player that would start or get much playing time on the top 3-4 teams in the league.

Therein lies the problem as I see it. Why is that? The players that we did have that would be upper classmen now, all transferred away from Joni and her staff....
