Maybe? IDK. TBH sometimes I type out of frustration admittedly lol. I'm not sure what the answers are. Clearly, coach Joni's style is to allow them to suffer through the ups and the downs. Maybe she doesn't know what to say? Maybe she thinks she's teaching them to figure it out on their own. You see this in high level soccer, too. They don't overcoach and are trying to get the athletes to figure it out as they are playing. I'm old school; when something isn't working, I need it pointed out, or a timeout, or to be subbed out, or something? The team was clearly lackluster and had no answers and our guards were flustered and outplayed. I think a coach calling timeouts shows she believes in them and will help stop the other team's momentum, etc. Coach Blair was a master at this. Maybe she's coaching them up as she subs? IDK. I'm at a loss. The ONE game where she called a time out early in the game against OleMiss...guess what happened? We got our crap together and won.
I think was pisses me off the most about this effort was how the team didn't rally around Aicha who was going back to Auburn for the first time. Just a poor excuse for effort and to lay an egg when your teammate needed you to be at your best? Bad bull.
